On any of our jobs we are expected to produce to a certain amount of productivity. If we don't then we are going to have a problem with our boss(es). If our boss doesn't hold you to a certain standard then human nature takes over and you tend to relax and not produce as much as you would normally. David Carr has a great smile and personality, but this isn't a modeling agency. This is a professional football team. It kills me to hear people say that Carr had a good game. Stats reading 8 for 20 for under a hundred yards, rushing att 3 for 4 yds. :challenge Well, I can understand a bad game and even a few bad games. It happens. However, what needs to happen is accountability. Not what you have done for me but what are you doing for me lately. Do you think anyone else in the NFL will pay Carr what we are willing to pay him? Some may argue that if he is "shell shocked!"

Shell shocked is not a good term to or characteristic to have as a starting QB. How many military personnel have you known to just come out of shell shock just b/c they're no longer in that hostile environment? It's not a over night thing nor will it be an over-off-season thing. I hate to say it but the guy is damaged goods. Yes he is talented, and yes he has potential but just like a female with emotional baggage...Carr has issues...his confidence in this team is very little...and if we don't watch out we well lose Gaffney and Johnson b/c they have enough talent to be pro bowl players.

Davis is highly over-rated and just b/c we have a bunch of needs...aloowing Reggie Bush to pass is crazy! I am not saying Davis isn't a suffiencient back but he hasn't played an entire season to date. Build your team with talent people who can score.

Capers...you should know that your pathetic offense sucks royal-ly...you are a former defensive coordinator...every NFL defense looks at our offense and are literally:drool: ...this is why you will be job hunting like myself....and it's rough out here!

OK - let's be honest - this is the one that gets to me.

"The offensive line looked pretty good". Pretty good? The scheme was to use 7 players to block 4 defensive lineman! How can you look "pretty good" when you require that much help? Imagine if Indy was a blitzing team - we never could have blocked them all. Since they don't blitz we had 3 receivers being covered by 7 DBs and linebackers.

But we didn't give up any sacks in the first half. Outstanding!
 
Even if Carr is "damaged goods" we'd still have to address the offensive line and pass protection woes. You really can't address both at the same time in one offseason. I'd rather pick up Carrs option and lay out a good plan for protection for him going into next year. Coach him up in the offseason and let him know he has to make plays with his arms and not his legs, stay in the pocket no matter what and have him practice timing routes with the receivers when a play gets busted. I would have a complete playbook that allows him to audible in any combination CARR chooses and work on hot routes to receivers better. I would give the walking papers to Mckinney and draft at minimum 2 offensive line players. I would search hard for a solid LG and bring in guys that are conducive to the scheme we are trying to implement. I would draft a TE regardless of how Joppru is doing, we need 2 solid TE's and Bruener is getting too old. Once that has been addressed if Carr is still struggling then I bring in the #2 QB and see if it gets any better.

Yup, it works for me also. I also think we need a LOT of work on the defense. I'm not sure if FA isn't the best way for most of that with the late 3rd round pick and 5th round pick used for the defense depth and future replacements.

Let's not forget that at these jobs, we are given tools to help us get the job done. In order to be productive at work, you have to have a productive working environment, and tools to help you get the job done. Kinda hard to print that report if you computer doesn't have Microsoft Word, or some program like that. Kinda hard to change that tire when the air compressor is too run down to power your air rachet. Football isn't a one man show. In order for a QB to be productive, he needs good pass blocking, a good run game, and recievers getting open. We have the worst line in football, an injured worst line in football at that. We do not have a solid #2 WR. We do not have ANY passing threat from our TE's. I think an upgrade in the QB's working environment would make him alot more productive. :twocents:

Gaffney is good at catching a ball in open space, when it's thrown right too him. AJ the same thing. On that one sideline throw where Carr threw it high to Johnson against 2 defenders, Johnson needs to come down with those balls. AJ has also missed several ball this year and although he's coming back from an injury, to be to tired to run your routes at the end of a game when we need you most is inexcusable. I also noticed too that Andre is hyped as having all this speed but in this late game in particular, the CB was stride for stride on that one deep throw. I'm not saying AJ is bad, but if Carr needs to be held accoutable for his play then so should all these other high dollar players. No one should be immune.
