Do you guys really hate my leftwich. I mean he isnt a bad quarterback. He is kinda big and isnt that mobile....and enough of the coleman stuff.... but besides that do you guys really think he sucks. Because i do remember reading negative stuff about him. Dont know if thats because someone was trolling here or not but you know.
 
No, a lot of us are just jealous because Carr does not have a lead role in a movie like leftwich. But then again, Carr wouldn't make a very good Fat Albert. Leftwich played the role well.
 
yah Carr is better fit for "queer eye for the straight guy" ... i mean he could share his hair stylists with other guys.

i didnt want to fight with you, i simply asked a question. how about a simple answer. and this is directed towards doom only.
 
I think he is going to be a good (not great qb). He has a cannon arm but seems to struggle with his touch passes. But thats just my observation from the 4 games Ive seen him in. Also, for such a big guy, he sure is hurt alot :hmmm:
 
Yes, i agree, he does have a problem with his accuracy but its not the long ball accuracy its those short passes that he has problems on. The reason he was hurt so much IMO, is because Salaam. He was gettn hit from that blindside all year. One can only take so much, right?
 
Bryon came out strong last year, but honestly I expected more improvement this year. Still think he is a good young QB. Mobility is going to be an issue for him--even though he is big he has been injured several times. Keep in mind in 2 years he has taken less sacks than Carr did this year alone. Del Rio really needs to make sure that OL comes in order (as does Capers) to give both these guys a chance to show what they have.

He's young and learning.

You have to give him time to develop.

He is hurt alot but I do admire that he tries to play thru it. He's tough.
 
I agree with you. I mean who is the last quarterback that was mobile to win the superbowl? that right there tells you that mobility isnt the thing that counts (it helps sometimes though)

It was his ignorance that started it. i asked a simple question and he couldnt answer it so instead he had to insult someone on a football team rather than answer the question. if he doesnt have an answer for the question maybe he shouldnt answer it.
 
I dont hate Lefty. We are 3-1 vs. the Jags when he is at the Helm. I would like to see him have a better season, with less injuries.

P.S. Who do you see the Jags looking for in the draft?

i see them looking for either a LT or a nice DE or CB we need these via draft or FA

I thought Leftwich had a great rookie season, and before the season started had him ranked right with and even a lil bit higher than David Carr, but then came inconsistency and injuries, and this guy didn't have that great of a year. But Leftwich is a guy who will guide his team to W's in the 4th quarter, we saw that in Marshall and at the beginning of this year. He won't get the dry-heaves like McNabb. Only thing about him is that he can't scamble.

If I was to choose between David Carr or Bryan Leftwich...........I'd go with Carr just for the simple fact I could do more with him like roll him out on boot legs and he can make those game changing runs like he did against Atlanta. We just haven't seen him make the plays in the 4th quarter because we haven't been in that situation too often. Besides we are too conservitive then anyway.
 
Nothing personal jagulex, but I just don't see where Byron is "all that". He is not mobile and while that is not a top priority in a QB, it is important that he be that way if he doesn't get the coverage he needs (example: Carr). He is a decent QB, but not one who will go down in the HOF unless he improves greatly in the coming years. Carr has a shot at being a HOF'er but needs similar improvement also. Byron is a little large for his current position and that is something he can't fix. I see David improving faster than Byron but both teams will be the ones to watch in the coming years. Time will tell on both QBs. Both seem to be upstanding men, and that is great for both organizations. :coolb:

steve young... last time i checked, he was pretty good on both, but he did what mcnabb wanted to do this year, limit his running, and throw more... and run only when you have to... then mcnair almost won it, was a yard short :thud: still gotta hurt
 
I like Leftwich. I watched him at Marshall. He gained my respect the way he played in his last bowl game. The lineman had to carry him down the field between plays because he couldn't walk, simply amazing.

Leftwich reminds me of a Marino or a Bledsoe. A guy who can get the ball around the field but isn't especially mobile. However, I think he is able to fight off a sack (with his size/strength) and still get a pass off. I see some high potential for him, but I am not sure if he is going to live up to it or not.
 
I am proud to have Leftwich as are QB,i know he is not as mobile as other Qb's in running speed but he sure can evade tacklers.If you watched the Jags vs. Raiders you would have seen that it is extremely hard to bring this guy down.

As for Carr i liked him better when he was at Fresno,but that was when he wasnt beating us.

I wouldn't say 'extremely hard' to bring down. He's not in the realm of a McNabb or Culpepper yet. He's a big bodied QB like Culpepper, but it's Byron's pocket awareness that's going to keep him alive in the NFL. We've already seen that he's not as durable as Culpepper or McNabb, and he needs to avoid getting hit. Defenders literally bounce off of Culpepper, and McNabb can actually shed tacklers then both can either make a play with their feet or their arm. I really want Carr's pocket awareness to improve, and it has been since his rookie season. However, he still has a ways to go in improving his pocket awareness before the sack numbers decline enough for me to be satisfied.
