Lee Ernest Suggs, Jr. (born August 11, 1980 in Roanoke, Virginia) is an American football player who currently is a free agent running back in the NFL. He was drafted by the Browns out of Virginia Tech with the 18th pick in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He has been unable to play a full season due to several injuries as well as the acquisition of Reuben Droughns by the Browns. On Monday, August 14, 2006 Suggs was traded to the New York Jets for Defensive Back Derrick Strait, but the trade was voided when Suggs failed his physical, and subsequently returned to the Cleveland Browns. He was cut by the Browns and was claimed of waivers by the Dolphins on September 3, 2006. He was cut by the Dolphins on October 10, 2006.

just some info on him

Yeah, I watched just about all Detroit's game last year, and he was easily their 2nd best receiver when he can in. I wouldn't mind seeing him come in here. I definately think it would give Carr another great target. I would rather him right now then Walter.

The writing is on the wall for Mr. Dayne. He should be released any day now.

I don't understand why Derick Lewis isn't seeing any playing time. He performed very well in the preseason.

more info

Lee Suggs
College: Virginia Tech
Year: Junior
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 204
Birthday: August 11, 1980
40 Time: 4.27

Strengths: Lee Suggs is fast. Really fast. He ran a 4.27/40 last year. But he's also big (204 lbs.), and not afraid to run inside (Tech coaches say Suggs averaged 5 to 6 broken tackles a game last year), which is what makes him such a threat at the goal line -- he scored 30 rushing touchdowns in 2000.

Hokie coaches continue to be amazed by Suggs' natural abilities ("He just knows how to run."), his knack for finding the end zone (again, he scored 30 TD's last year), his patience in waiting for the hole to open and his tireless work ethic. He's also clutch, racking up 100+ yards in five games last year against Bowl-bound teams.

Areas of concern: Because of Vick's scrambling, Suggs learned quickly how to block, but he hasn't had much practice catching passes, though he reportedly has tremendous hands. And even with Vick now gone, he still might not get much work in -- Tech is loaded with talented receivers. But it's a minor concern.

Is he sponge-worthy? Yes, and let's begin by dispelling a myth about Suggs: he was more than just the unheralded second running option in Tech's offense last year.

When Vick sprained his ankle in week 8 against Pittsburgh, Suggs stepped up with 164 yards. In the ensuing match-up with Miami, when Vick couldn't even start, and played ineffectively thereafter, Suggs finished with 121 yards. During the Hokies' final five games, with Vick nursing the bad ankle, and thus, less of a running threat, Suggs totaled 617 yards as Tech's go-to-back.

Suggs is exactly the kind of back Dom Capers would love to have: strong enough to grind out tough yards inside, fast enough to get outside the tackles and move the chains. Plus, he rarely fumbles (only twice last year in 240 carries) and has terrific field vision.

Chris Palmer probably wouldn't mind having Suggs, either. While he hasn't had much practice at it, scouts seem to agree Suggs could be an effective weapon out of the backfield. Hard to imagine Palmer not drooling at the thought of getting Suggs the ball in the open field

ya didnt meet the speial requirements or sumthin it said i say w pick em up tho.....just get him to play and not be a *****........:chicken:

Is this the same guy that had problems off the field as well? I remember there was a running back for Cleveland that committed some sort of crime, but I don't know if this is him.

lee suggs has some talent he just needs to stay on the field...wouldn't mind seeing him here can't be any worse that dayne

If you don't have to count on Suggs to be there all the time, he has talent and can be usefull. Change of pace back?

Who was assaulted (stabbed) by his wife. It's always good to see the wives assaulting players instead of the other way around :hides:

Wasnt Nick Harper of the Colts stabbed in his knee by his wife before the Steelers play-off game last year? Thats a fun injury report...

I think at this point it more than just a pure ability to stay healthy. Cleveland has a lot of nothing backing up Droughns and in Miami he could not hold off Sammy Morris and Travis Minor to maintain a roster spot. I am guessing that the multiple injuries have permanently taken a toll on his ability to perform even when he does not have an issue. Probably worth the look to see if his body really is healthy.

OMG when i seen him at VTech I wanted him to be apart of team.. I love his speed and size just gotta keep him healthy. maybe split up the carries a little bit this season and then next year who knows...

how long does it usually take teams to sign a guy after a workout, if the team is impressed?

cause i would like scottie vines in houston

I have a goggle toolbar added to my IE, and it has a spellcheck. I love it.

They were talking about Firefox 2.xx in the original post, because it spell checks in-line while you're typing.
I have been using the Google Tool bar as well, but it may become obsolete in the near future. I'll have to try life without it to decide if I can live without the search features.

Suggs is exactly what we need!

Another injuried player that no one wants

and can't make anyone's roster!!! :sarcasm:
