Kubiaks press conf...

WWJD said:
Well you must really despise me then. I'm a huge fan of both teams.

Kubiak is a great coach. I'm gonna be sorry if Vince is not gonna be the pick but that's what the tone seems to be. If he goes to the Titans it's gonna be fun around here. Well more fun than usual.

o man.....VY better NOT go to the Titans and beat the Texans.....I'll get hella hate points if that happens. :redtowel:

Well one plausible explanation is the Texans, particularly McNair and Kubiack, are throroughly comfortable with Carr and part of the process of rehabilitating him is showing confidence in him.

Good point. I just do not think Carr is shell shocked. I think he will be as excited by the coaching change as are we.

I myself find it rather fun to joke at the expense of a Cowboy fan or a Bronco fan. It's nothing personal, just good fanmanship. Now if I liked both teams it sure wouldn't be fun especially when it comes to training my kids who the REAL teams are.:) :) :)

I won't say unequivocal, but Kubiak just gave Carr a very, very strong endorsement. All you UT-VY types probably should get used to the idea
of your guy playing in the NFL at a location somewhere east or northeast of the state of Texas.

It Aggie and never!!!!

Good point Infantrycak. BTW what does your name mean anyway...just curious.

Not sure what his name means, but I have hear people using the phrase PEBCAK in the tech support field when fielding questions.. A PEBCAK error means Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard..

I have wondered if infantry's name had something along those lines (not saying Infantry is a Pebcak) :spy:

Infantry just refers to having been an 11 bravo--infantryman in the Army and cak are my initials. Someone who never posted on the MB to my knowledge had taken infantry.

I don't despise anyone, now I do find it odd and I question you mental health :D.

Yea I get you. I was just razzing you. I'm treated very kindly on here...no complaints.

My mental health has been in question for some years. :)

From all I've read and heard New Orleans is expected to take Leinart.....which leaves the Titans to take Vince and I cannot recollect where I saw it but I saw a quote by Coach Fisher and he was very pro-Vince and I know Vince is friends with McNair and so on and so forth.

Of course changes could happen with a trade but it'd certainly be great message board fodder for Vince to become a Titan.

I won't go on...it's too painful to think about.

They keep throwing in Rome clips on top of McNair speaking.

Sounds really professional...NOT! Pretty lame, IMO. Typical for 610, though.

Anyone have access to an entire transcript of the press conference? I didn't get to hear any of it.

It certainly seems like we're sticking with David Carr but like I said on the other thread, a lot can change between now and April 29th. I don't think Gary Kubiak can make a honest judgement until he's seen tapes of VY and David Carr.

Now let me ask you this. Are you going to look at the tapes of DC being chased around the field, having the krap kicked out of him? Are you going to watch the tapes of VY playing against a bunch of lousy D's and having all day to pass without a care in the world? You can't make an honest judgement by looking at those tapes. In respect to college and professional football, VY was in the best possible situation. DC is the exact opposite. No way you can make an honest depiction/judgement using those tapes, or any tapes for that matter. JMO.

Well, you would qualify as a true American Hero in my opinion. Thanks for your service and if you have any friends still serving that can use some pen-pals please send a message with there names ect, and my family and I would be tickled to write.

I don't have an issue with someone rooting for the Cowboys and Texans. However, if you are from Houston, this franchise better be your favorite.

Well, I can't honestly say that I am a Texans fan....

I think you should have stopped there as it begs the question - Why exactly are you here posting on the Texans board since your "Not" a fan...

Glacier said:
that said, other than the speculation and the buzz that has surrounded the franchise lately, there really hasn't been much reason to be excited or interested in the Texans if you are not a native houstonian or from the houston area.

it would be nice if the hype and interest continued and maybe it will with Kubiak here turning things around.

Believe it or not - there are Texan fans outside of the state. I know several including friends of mine in Canada and Ohio.

As for being excited about the team - I guess having Pro-bowl players and performances are not Note,Hype and Cheer worthy to you? I guess we should just trade Andre Johnson, Domanick Davis, Gary Walker, Dunta Robinson and Jerome Mathis because there performances are not worth cheering for?

You must really hate this team then eh???

Believe it or not up until this past year the fervor and excitement about the team was pretty high along with expecatations for the team including DC. Everyone pretty much league wide thought we were going to make the next step and go to the playoffs this past year - But honestly I fault Management/Coaching for most of that and for dragging the Texans down with them this year. I would say the "Hype" your talking about picked back up from last year and beyond because of our draft status. Had the team actualy improved upon last years record like was predicted for most well built teams - we would likely not even be talking now because you would be talking on whomevers board would be getting the #1 pick instead of us.

Honestly i'm not worried about hype or interest levels - Wins change everyones attitude regardless. Just the same as losses do. Nobody really lieks to cheer for the losing team do they?? But if the team starts winning - People will come around even some of those who may be "Dissapointed" in whom we draft this year.

Go Texans :redtowel:

I think RB and VY are overrated as it is. For our team needs I'd trade the pick away and try and get some DL and OL help. I'm still in favor for trading it to the Jets for this year and next year 1st rounders and Jon Abrahamn.

Rich Lord is probably on suicide watch right now.

I would keep John McLain nearby as well.

I think if they can get a SOLID O-line in 2 years for Bush they will take it in a second...if not then Bush will keep the Texan cap on all day during draft day. Either way we improve...

Ok, did anybody notice R.C. Slocum was in attendance. Does anybody think he might land a consulting gig for the 3-4? Should I start worrying about my mental health? Seeing things where there's nothing.

Grew up in Dallas, When Jerry Jones took over & fired Tom Landry, I was a TEXAS team fan. Back in the days of the Luv ya Blue! I have a Texas team to root for again & will back em to the end. Now, that being said, when the Oiler's moved from Texas, The city of Houston let that happen. I do not wanna see them leave again. I hope Jerry Jones Dies a painfull death
