Kubiak's Next Destination

Well, look who's celebrating at Morton's,

Broncos brain trust and an Oompa-loompa orange colored local sports guy.

It would make more sense to me to dump Fox now & bring in Kubiak if they're going to usher in the Osweiller (sp) era now. Say goodbye to Peyton.

But they sound like they want Peyton back, which is why I don't understand the firing of Fox, especially after Kubiak said he was staying in Baltimore.

Sounds to me like either Fox knew he was on the way out or he wanted out as much as Elway wanted him out. He pretty much had the Chicago job waiting for him before he was let go.

there are a couple of large hurdles in place for kubiak to overcome. manning's salary and declining ability, plus upcoming free agents could make for a rocky transition. also i really dont see any potential in their current backup, and think a new quarterback will need to begin grooming right away.

there are a lot of the right pieces in place this time around though, namely among the management. having a GM and head coach that think exactly alike and have worked together for decades should be incredibly productive. the defense is quite well built as well with both young players and veterans. because of that i see a 4th superbowl ring happening in the near future, possibly before this first contract expires.

Ok, so I guess John Elway has no idea what the f'ck he's doing?

Time to stop the bitterness, maybe?

A photo emerged Sunday night -- as New England cruised to the Super Bowl -- of Elway happily huddled with Kubiak at a swank mountainside steakhouse. They look thrilled with the reunion, the old star quarterback and his trusted backup.

LOL - yeah, those Houston mountains.

The good news, though, is that that's one less AFC team the Texans have to worry about. The Broncos will be in the toliet for a while.

I think they'll be good. That team is stacked. That was one of the best rosters I've ever seen on paper this year. Don't forget they went 12-4 with Manning playing poorly down the stretch of the last 4 games. Last year they broke records, and then added all those defensive pieces. Elway has shown that he has the balls to make big moves and will go all out. I'd love to have that guy as my GM honestly. Firing their HC was a mistake in my eyes. John Fox is a great coach that made the playoffs every year there, made a SB, and even got there with Tebow.

I like Kubiak's system to go with Manning's skill set if it were to work properly. However, the problem will be to me when Manning isn't playing hot and is having physicality problems. I don't see Kubiak adapting when he needs to. I also can see Manning feeling like he needs to adapt and Kubiak being to stubborn to see the opportunities that Manning can, and that is where problems can exist.

Either way, Kubiak just got a hold of one of the best rosters ever with a top 5 all time QB right after being the king of average for 8 years. Lol! Dude sure as hell is lucky.

Bitterness?

Of course I don't want Kubiak to win a SB. I want BOB to win the SB and the Texans are in direct competition with the Broncos.

Gary Kubiak takes over Broncos; http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12191685/denver-broncos-hire-gary-kubiak-new-head-coach

Kubiak's deal is for four years, according to multiple reports. He spent the past season as the Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator.

Ravens quarterbacks coach Rick Dennison and tight ends coach Brian Pariani will be following Kubiak to Denver, sources told ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.

Looks like the Ravens will be looking for a new OC, QB Coach, and TE Coach.

Kubiak will win a Super Bowl with Denver.

Too bad it didn't work out with us, but I'm glad he gets to "go home."

What makes you think Kubiak will be better in Denver than in Houston? Wishful thinking maybe?

Obviously because they run different offenses Kubiak and Manning will have to change. I don't see Gary changing his ways. Look at his stubbornness when it came to playing Schaub when McNair told him to play Keenum.

But maybe Elway can help Gary with this issue. Although Aggies aren't known for their ability to adapt under pressure.

I lived in Denver before coming to Houston, and the Broncos are one of my secondary teams.

Shame on John Elway for hiring Gary Kubiak. He fired John Fox saying he wants a tough, no-nonsense team, and hires a coach that brings the exact opposite.

Wow.

LOL.

I think Elway will be able to sleep at night bringing Kubiak despite a few nobodies wanting to shame him for such a move.

You realize Elway has years of first hand experience watching Kubiak in the locker room right?

Congrats to Kubiak. I think that's a great hire for both parties. Hope he's learned a little from working here and doesn't stay too loyal to incompetent assistants or FO personnel that couldn't care less about stabbing him in the back.

Also going to be interesting to see how/if he works with Peyton. FWIW, I heard Rich Lord say that Peyton had a handshake deal to come to Houston in 2012 but Kubiak blocked it.

I'm happy for Kubiak. I hope he has success there as long it isn't at our expense.

Great guy, good coach, and he's walking into a fantastic situation. Elway very well be a hard guy to work for but he obviously has an eye for talent. He's built quite a team up there.

Honestly, I don't think they will win a Super Bowl with Manning. And I think that they will struggle to transition once he's gone. But once they do, if Kubiak is still there I think they will do very well.

.

I wonder if he's learned anything from being with Harbaugh for a season.

Good for Kubes! Falls into a great situation, and should help that team continue to win.

LOL @ all of you who STILL try and bad talk him.

Would anybody be pissed if gary wins a championship with manning at the helm?

With a top 5 WR in DT, a top 10 WR in ES, a top 3 TE in JT, top ~5 RB in CJA, top 10 OL and a top 10 DE in MJ, two top 5 LBs in VM & BM, top 3 CB in CHJr...?

I would not be pissed if Gary HC's a SB win, period... I'd damn well expect him to go deep into the playoffs with so many quality pieces on that roster. He just walked into a gold mine.

Or perhaps the experts on this board who swore that Kubiak would NEVER get another head coaching job should, maybe, perhaps, stop acting like experts. :nolisten:

Congrats to Kubiak. Good luck with everything unless you're playing the Texans.

You aren't laughing at anyone as you are generally the laughing stock of this forum the majority of times you post. Matter of fact why have you not shown back up in the Patriots thread about Brady being done??

The league is a good ole boy league where these HC's get recycled over and overdue to their connections and loyalties. Don't act like that is something that is a surprise to you. You've bashed Kubiak on and on and then warmed up to him, and then bashed him again once he showed you his true colors in his 8 year existence here. Fans that criticize him here pretty much are experts. They watched him weekly for an 8 year span while this franchise was an embarrassment for the majority of that time span. He hasn't achieved anything since leaving here other than getting hired by his boy Elway. No one was surprised by that one bit. Many of us were begging for that to happen when he was supposed to be fired after the Texans went 6-10.

I rarely speak in absolutes. You do, and it makes you look foolish. :rake:

Forgive me for being a TEXANS FAN and occasionally trying to be optimistic and hopeful when given the reason for it.

And by "forgive me", I do not offer apologies, but rather get over your own self-righteous bullshit.

What are you going to do if Kubiak has success in Denver? Will your head explode from unreleased hatred?

p.s. before you go into attack mode, I'm just having some fun and yanking your chain a little. We should know each other well enough now to avoid flames over it.

Not sure where you even stand honestly. I've heard you bash this man relentlessly only to say the opposite two months later and then bash him again once his coaching ways would create emotional despair for you all over again. That doesn't ever register to me as a decisive and objective analysis of someone honestly. It's flip flopping for the most part depending on what happens every other week. It is like hearing the excuses from someone who gets angry every time you bring up the dozens of times they were abused and left to feel miserable by their spouse they can't stop defending shortly after they swore they were done with them.

I don't have to worry about Kubiak or what he does in Denver. I've been wanting him to get a job in our division since he was finally canned. I'm glad he is in the AFC. None of what he does or doesn't do with this stacked roster in Denver will change any of the dark history that took place here in Houston for 8 years. It's actually cute at how so many of you keep clutching on to Kubiak's future career to somehow justify his tenure here as legit. By the end of next year or the year after, I'm quite certain I'll see posts from you that are horrible criticisms of how you felt about Kubiak again, and then it will change the next year again probably.

Oh wow Good Ol Boy #1 shows back up chewing his cud, with his online machismo only to ruin another thread. What else is new around here?

Git er done boy! LMAO

maybe you're the foolish one for being optimistic in light of the 12 year record.

Well there is that.

In all seriousness I wish Kubiak good luck. Maybe he will be a better HC with Elway having control over the final 53. He was in over his head here. I cant wait to see how next yrs Kubiak vs Belichick matchup turns out. Especially if it's in primetime.

Man it's getting hot in here tonight.
