Kubiak is the problem!

I think so. It was Kubiak that gave Dave Carr 8 million bonus and a three year contract extension. What was he thinking? That decision was unexcuseable!:mario2:

We have a terrible offensive line, no quality running backs, and our secondary is like swiss cheese. So we have to find a way to keep our offense on the field and eat clock the only way we can do that is dink and dunk. Now I don't like seeing that but I understand that with our talent that is what we must do. We can not create turnovers with our D so what we do is send a WR deep and the dump off to a check down receiver in place of the running game. Loosing Dominick Davis really hurt our team. Our GM was not even on board during the draft and we are starting over. We have no choice but to wait as we are rebuilding.
It boils down to this.
This year is over and it doesn't matter if we throw the ball down the field more (which I don't think we could because of cover 2 with no running game) what matters most is what we do in the off season with free agency and the draft.

I look at this team and feel like we are two years away from being a contender in the AFC.

Kubiak is doing a great job.

Wrong, that was McNair's decision. Salvaging Carr was one of the sign ons to the job of being head coach. Every canadite was asked about Carr so if your going to blame anyone, blame that decision on McNair.

Carr was a package deal to every candidate and hopefully we will hear something about that in the near future regarding those interviews.

If McNair really wanted an honest evluation from a coaching candidate, why did hire Dan Reeves as a consultant to evaluate Carr? McNair used the Reeves consultant report to get what he wanted and Kubiak was too pleased to do so because he wanted the job in Houston so badly.

There is a lot discussion about Carr and that he doesn't have enough talent around him. But, since the Texans have started many teams that were bottom of the barrell are now doing very well and making playoff runs. It doesn't really take that long to make a competitive in the NFL.

All of these comparisons to past teams really aren't relevant. Since the mid to late 90's, the league has added 4 teams and has a hard salary cap with free agency. If you think building the 90's Cowboys is possible, you are probably kidding yourself. Injuries and free agency are going to eat you alive! Look around the league on the successful teams, and you see rookies playing on all the good teams on the lines, running back, and so on...

The two most important positions right now in the NFL are the head coach and quarterback, and winning with less not more is how you are going to be successful.

At this day and age, the NFL is about the survival of the fitest, not stacking your team up with outrageous talent. If your high contract players aren't performing, your team isn't going to perform. It really is that simple.
