Ko Simpson the answer?

To our CB problems?

We need a #2 CB.. could it be Ko Simpson? Hes a South Carolina player.. just like Dunta Robinson. And you know Mr. McNair has a preference for the South Carolina guys.

He sounds alot like Dunta.. always around the action...nose of the ball.. good in run coverage as well as being a ballhawk.. plays physical..good tackler..

The place where he differs from Dunta is important though. He doesnt have his speed.. posting a 4.51 40 (Dunta had a 4.34)

All in all though.. he fits the bill for a #2 CB, or a FS for us.

Keep an eye on his 40 times at the Combine, or the SC workout. If he gets any faster though..we will have to use our 2nd rounder on him.

actually now im reading that he would definatly be a prospect to get with our #33 pick.. and that if he had good 40 times he could jump Huff and/or Williams into the 1st round. He is already borderline, supposedly.

I would love for him to play safety here. The guy is a flat out stud. He is a true ball hawk. He harassed David Greene last year and should have taken it to the house twice against Shockley this year. I don't care what his 40 time is or any of that other BS... watch him play football and you will want this guy.

Yah if anyone has video on him id love to see it.

Maybe this would be a good second round pick for us.

or one more reason to trade down in the first :)

If we could get a cover corner in FA I would prefer it, but the kid sounds like someone to look at.

A 4.51? ... I could be wrong, but that isn't exactly fast for a safety ... much less a #2 corner.

Maybe a dime, but I'm not convinced we need to go around drafting dimes this offseason. Bell and Simmons already fit that bill pretty well.

4.51 is pretty good for a safety. Sean Taylor runs in the same range (4.54 I think) and so does Antrel Rolle (who is a CB thought to be a bit on the slow side). I think Simpson would make a great FS if he measures up and is available in round 2.

Ko Simpson is the answer, and I have been preaching that for a while now. He is not a CB however. He is a natural FS. Regardless of his 40 time, he is that ball-hawking FS that we have never really had. He is Sean Taylor at a smaller program.

We will have to take him at 33. He will not be available later than that, and we will be quite lucky if he is at 33.

Talk about instantly improving the defense. :yahoo:

He will not be available at 33 unless he gets arrested or has some sort of character concern, much like Justin Miller from last year...Simpson will be competing with Huff as the first FS taken...

Any dude named Ko is gonna lay the wood and no I'm not ignorant. Know any softies names Ko. Didn't think so. Yeah we can get him with a trade down but with only one #2 and a guy named Reggie we'll take a lineman. McNair's orders

Simpson is also competing with Williams as well as Huff.. there is the chance he could slide to #33. I wouldnt be surprised if he did.. but I wouldnt be surprised if he went somewhere between 20-32 either.

Huff seems overrated to me, he is a great player, but not a ballhawk like i was lead to believe. Simpson is the top FS on my board.

If he is going anywhere before our first 3rd round pick, I doubt that he will then be a Teaxan. Other spots would be needed higher at the 33 pick like a OT or a TE depending on whether we have traded down or not.

it was just from watching his games this year. Maybe its just that i think he's overrated now. I still like him, but get off his back guys.

Ummm, I don't think you're gonna have any problem getting Simpson to "fall" to 33 IMPO.

The kid is good, but he's not THAT good.

Simpson could go very early depending on his combine. With an average combine, he could still go top 25. It would be great if he "fell" to 33...maybe I'm biased??
