I would take Kaepernick.
I would take Kaepernick.
I would have a couple of years ago.
He didn't look good at all last year and you have to wonder if defensive coordinators got enough tape on him to figure him out.
Colin is our QB and we are excited to have him. He is not going anywhere. The media reports suggesting otherwhise are without merit and quite frankly ridiculous."
Sounds like a bs report to me. Twitter.
Looks like Patrick Willis and Justin Smith are both retiring.

Yeah but now there is some rumor that a giant on the team will be gone by the end of the day...
Smith, Willis, Bowman?
I understand Frank Gore is being wooed by Philly pretty hard.
That front office hasn't exactly been forthright about... anything, lately. (e.g. Harbaugh)NFL network just read a statement from the Niners' GM, Trent Blake, that said Kaepernick is NOT being shopped around.
Sounds like a bs report to me. Twitter.
I imagine we'll get a confirmation of this many months down the road that York/Baalke will still deny... until they trade him. Kaep is not a Baalke guy. We'll see.
That may be true, but right now the Niners:
1) Don't have another QB
2) Would take a massive cap hit
3) Are still reeling from the p.r. fallout from the Harbaugh fiasco
Nothing adds up to trading Kaepernick right now.
49ers have been imploding since trying to trade one of the best coaches in the league to the Browns. The whole anti-Harbaugh campaign didn't make any sense, either.Nothing adds up to trading Kaepernick right now.
...
Two interesting notes: Tom Gamble was in the Eagles front office until recently, has been close with coach/GM Chip Kelly, and now is back with the 49ers.
Also: Vic Fangio was just hired as the Bears defensive coordinator.
So there are familiar faces all over these possible conversations, which might make the deal a lot easier to make or a lot harder, I don’t know.
Again, we will need to more about this, but just generally, the big question: Why would the 49ers, at such a crucial juncture, possibly want to move on to another QB?
I can see Baalke and new coach Jim Tomsula theoretically wanting…
1) A QB not picked by Harbaugh;
2) A QB who wasn’t trained by Harbaugh and who might not still be loyal to Harbaugh;
3) A QB not set to have a $16-19M cap figure into the deep future;
4) A QB who they believe can be shaped into their system, whatever it is.
I presume Baalke would want a young veteran back, also. I presume he’d draft a QB… by the way, it’s exceedingly likely that Baalke will draft a QB in the first three rounds this year, no matter what happens with Kaepernick this off-season.
And we shall see from there. Either way, we all know that Baalke and maybe Tomsula aren’t at all sure about Kaepernick into the future and now maybe Kaepernick knows, too.
Actually, I won’t truly believe this rumor until Jed York steps forward and says it’s not true.
The hubris from Baalke/York have displayed over the last two years is pretty unbelievable, too.
And I, for one, applaud them for their incompetence. Otherwise, Jim Harbaugh wouldn't be coaching my Wolverines.
