Josh Farmer- DT FSU

SnakeEyes

Under NRG
I have watched this kid and I like his motor and size, which he can even add to. Would you take him in the late 2nd or 3rd to get a DT that has a good skill set now, yet could become a stud in a year or two with good coaching?

He is listed as 308, likely close to 315-320 during the season. Stands 6' 3" with a great 1st step. Strong lower body with the ability to add more size if needed. Clocked at the combine at 5.11, however what really needs to be pointed out his how explosive he is with a huge 11.2' broad jump and a massive 83" wing span. Very violent hands and very strong as well. I have seen him toss guards to the side with little effort or just drive them into the QB with power and that 1st step.

No. If I was going to use 58 for a defensive tackle and I just might, it would have to be Alfred Collins from University of Texas. No other big boy/ nose is his realm.

I agree but he is rate higher and passing on a DT his size likely not happening. I think he is going to be gone by 58. Some of his combine stats aren't as good as Farmers however. But I agree if he WAS there.

Farmer is good, but he's very raw. He's a straight up run through the guy in front of him guy. He's got the tools to develop into more. There are so many good DT's in this draft that he's going to fall to rd 4-5. He would be a good pick at that point.
