Jets trade can be good for Texans

The Jets acquiring Pat Ramsey can actually be a good thing for Houston. The Jets will likely now try to pry Schaub from the Falcolns. What will happen now, is that the Jets will still have their first rounder but have no need for anopther QB. They could use a RB as their boy is getting up there in age. Thus, they can present a deal to us to move up to 1 and us to 4. So, with that happening, we could likely pick up their 1st this year, 3rd this year, and 1st next year.

So: Jets take Bush 1
Saints take Super mario 2
Tennessee take Leinart 3
Texans have lots of choice at 4.

Saints probably wont take Mario as they have 2 good young DE's already...They will either take Brick or trade down.

Or, they could just stay put to see if Bush drops to them. If not, then they could trade down a bit & pick up DeAngelo Williams. Thus, they'd get a very good RB, hang on to their 3rd this year & 1st next year, & possibly pick up a little something extra.

At this point, there is absolutely no way that I can see the Jets being interested in the least bit, in trading up. Period. You're just beating a :deadhorse .

Falcons aren't going to let Schaub go. With Vick being so injury prone, they need a good back up and Schaub is as good as it gets for a back up. Some people believe that Schaub is a better QB than Vick.

If the Falcons ever trade Schaub it will be when his contract is up and he is offered huge contracts by other teams.

Interesting proposal, but they need to give us one hell of a good deal for me to be happy giving up the option of getting Mario and Bush.

The Saints just drafted their future LT at #13 last year (and gave us the #66 pick this year to do so), and there has been discussion of moving Charles Grant inside to DT, so I think the Saints would definitely take Mario over D'Brick.

unless someone really loves bush and I mean willing to do a Ditka trade for him, he will most likely be a texan.

Jamal Brown is a RT-i think they'll take D'brick, Davis, or Hawk @2 if they dont trade down

With the second pick I would be suprised it the Saints don't go with D'Brick.

The Saints did not trade up and draft Jamaal Brown at #13 with the intention of him playing RT, he played there this year because he was a rookie, as most rookie OTs do. The Saints have a hole at DE with the departure of Darren Howard and Mario Williams is widely regarded as the 2nd best player in this draft. Vernon Davis and A.J. Hawk are definitely not worth the #2 pick, largely because of the position that they play, while a great DE is worth the #2 pick, so if the Saints stay at #2 then it is between Mario and D'Brick and I give Mario about a 75%/25% edge right now.

Jets | Team looking for ammunition to trade up
Sun, 19 Mar 2006 07:26:42 -0800

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets are reportedly looking for ammunition, by trading DE John Abraham, to move up to the No. 2 slot in the April NFL Draft. They team wants to draft USC QB Matt Leinart.

:stirpot:

If that report is true the Saints might take that deal and get Abraham as their DE that they are likely needing, then they could look at A.J. Hawk or D'Brickashaw Ferguson at #4, then the Jets take Matt Leinart and the Titans either take Jay Cutler, Vince Young or Mario Williams.

From what I understand from this blurb, it sounds like they wouldn't be trading Abraham to the Saints. They would be trading to some other team to get picks to trade up to the #2 pick.

The Saints do have a lot of holes and have their QB now so depending on what the deal is they could very well move down, and with the Jets reportedly looking for Leinart (I'm not convinced they are after renegotiating Pennington and trading for Ramsey) and the Titans likely looking at QB at #3 then Mario could still be available to the Saints at #4, so that would be a win-win for them.

rumor right now is that the Falcons have agreed to a contract with Abraham and just need to make a deal with the Jets to get him (most likely their first rounder).

The Seahawks have agreed to give the Jets a first rounder for Abraham, but have not yet agreed to a contract with him.

If either one of these deals goes through.. I would think that having two first rounders may increase the chance of the Jets being willing to trade up with us.

I doubt they give up the 15 pick, but their second and a high pick next year and they likely got a nice pass rusher. To bad the Seahawks are stuck on this Hutchinson thing. They should just let the guy go and take Mangold at the end of the first.

The Jets will trade with the Saints before trading with us. The Saints won't require giving up as much for the pick and the Jets can get Leinart if they want for cheaper.

But with the Jets wanting to trade up, the Titans might have to trade up to number 1 to get their man in Matt Leinert. So then it becomes a biddin war with the Texans and not the Saints. The Jets could trade up to number 2 wanting Leinert, but then the Titans trade up with Texans and they loss out on Leinert. So their only sure way of gettin him is to trade up to number 1.
