Jets or Denver Moving Up?

Kookus

Practice Squad
What if... The Jets packaged their #4, #29 and #36 (Value 2980) to move up to #1? Would they take the franchise QB?

#1 Leinart (JETS)
#2 Bush (NO)
#3 V. Young (TENN)
#4 Super Mario DE (Houston)
#5 Hawk (GB)
#6 V. Davis (Denver)
#7 D'Brick (Oakland)
#8 Bunkley (Bills)
#9 Huff (Lions)
#10 Cutler (Arizona)

#29 Ko Simpson S (Houston)
#33 A. Youtaboy CB (Houston)
#36 N. Mangold C (Houston)
#65 Whitworth OT (Houston)
#66 C. Griffin CB (Houston)
#97 Chester OG (Houston)
#129 BPA ILB/WR (Houston)
#161 Bruce Eugene QB (Houston)

What a defense upgrade and oh yeah we fix the O-Line! for the Texans!

And just what if.... we could trade back up with NO and get Reggie for all you reggie fans or he actually fell to #4?

One can only dream...

Don't be surprised if DENVER trades up with the #15 and #22 (Value 1830) to the JETS, PACKERS or 49ers. Anyone of them would consider it. This could shake up some mocks...

Who would they target? Hmm... They just lost a tightend and Shannon Sharpe Jr is on the board.

#1 Bush (HOUSTON)
#2 D'Brick or Super Mario (NO)
#3 Leinert (TENN)
#4 D'Brick or Super Mario (JETS)
#5 Hawk (GB)
#6 V. Davis (Denver)
#7 V. Young (Oakland)
#8 Bunkley (Bills)
#9 Huff (Lions)
#10 Cutler (Arizona)

I think the Denver trade is much more likely because the Niners want to trade down.

If the Jets trade up (they might not because they do have tons of needs) I think they would trade with the Saints because they would still get Leinart if they want the franchise QB of the future and wouldn't have to give up as much.

The Niners and the Bills would probalby look to trade down. The niners would be interested, because they at 15 they could take Chad Jackson and at 22 they could take Winston, Youboty, or Kamerion Wimbley. The Niners will definately be interested in that trade. I would be thrilled if the the jets traded up and we got 4 and 29 and 36 eventhough I doubt they would give up 3 picks in the top 36 in order to just have Bush they would throw their third rounder or a next year's pick instead of this years, but next years second from the Jets who should be pretty bad would be nice. Either way with the trade excluding the second rounder my draft would look something like this.
4. Mario Williams
29. Nick Mangold or Jonathan Joseph
33. Nick Mangold or Jonathan Joseph
65. Andrew Whitworth
66. Daneal Manning or Brandon Marshall or best WR available
97 Chris Chester
129. Leon Williams or best S available
161. Best Athlete Available or best S available

You guys would consider #4, #29, and #36 for #1 as a godfather deal right?

I would, even if we had to give up a 3rd to get all those picks. I'm not sure how we would pay them all, but that's what professionals are for.

We could fill 4 holes in a big way WR, DB/LB, and OL or we could take polarizing QB or drool inducing DE and sufficiently fill our big needs elsewhere. The idea of Moss, Holmes, or Jackson slipping to #29 excites me. Taking the best OL available at #33 and the best DB/LB at #36 could be sweet.

The Jets have needs of their own. I don't see them giving up those 2 late 1st/early 2nd picks to move up 3 spots.

I think its plausible, if you take into consideration what the Giants gave up to get Eli Manning. The Jets are competing in the same market. Why would they not take a shot at a franchise player like Linart or Bush?

It sounds like a nice idea but I'm thinking the Jets could stay with the #4 and #29 and draft Mario Williams to replace John Abraham and Nick Mangold to replace Kevin Mawae. That would be a great 1st round for them and I don't know if they'd give those two guys up to get Leinart, I personally wouldn't.

As for the Broncos, I think the 49ers would be the most likely trading partner, then the Broncos would probably look to grab Vernon Davis and add a very nice weapon to their passing game, or they could possibly look at Michael Huff to play FS for them if Vernon Davis is gone at #6.

If the Jets were to entertain giving up the #4 and the #29 to move to #1 they doubtfully would also give up another pick in 2006. It might be possible to grab a 2007 pick, though. Maybe the Texans can do a monster 3 team trade. Give NY the #1 for the #4 and the #29 along with a 2nd rounder next season. Trade the #4 to Denver for the #15 and the #22 and maybe a 3rd rounder next year.

The Texans would have #15, #22,#29, #33, #65, #66.

It would cost a heck of a lot, but maybe it could end up being equal to the Steelers 1973(?) draft with Stallworth, Webster, Lambert, and Bradshaw.

Winston Justice, Johnathon Joseph, Nick Mangold, D'Qwell Jackson, Anthony Smith, Elvis Dumervil. Shores up the DLine, OLine, DBs, LBs.

Ok, it's a pipe dream, but it doesn't hurt to think about it.
