Johnson is a frustrating player to watch this year. He is incredibly talented and he has always taken good care of the ball, but this year he is off. It looks like the pressure is on him and he is pressing.
This is the same kid who as a first year starter threw 21 TDs to 10 INTs. And who last year was 30-8.
But his picks have always come in bunches. If you get him once you're likely going to get him again. This is the third time in his career he has thrown 4 INTs in a game. He's had more multiple INT games in his career (7) than games where he only threw one (5). I don't know if that stat means anything but it seems odd.
It means if he's on everything is good. If he's off he cant make the neccessary adjustments. that = a good will never get you over the top QB.
Staubachs' greatest quality was that he could suck for 3 qtrs. But come the 4th qtr he could forget about the first 3 qtrs and bring his team back to win.
That's why there have been tons of Johnsons and very few Staubachs'.
Or it could be that Johnson's just a typical Aggie QB? LOL
His arm, just isn't right. Didn't he have some kind of surgery?
Not making excuses, just saying that if he can't put something on his throws, shouldn't Tannehill or someone else get the nod?
Mike Sherman better get it figured out. This is year 3. It's now mostly his recruits... Just sayin'!
yeah, he had shoulder surgery in March and then tried to change his mechanics to a more professional style while recovering and it has all blown up on him.. the third interception was a sure touchdown if he could've made the throw to a wide open receiver but had to have been underthrown by twenty yards at least.
it's such a tough situation because Jerrod is everything except a good football player at the moment.. he is the heart and soul of the team, an exceptional person, and a terrific Aggie, and it really sucks seeing him playing like this when everyone wants to see him succeed.
on the other hand, to have five turnovers including a fumble returned for touchdown and such a huge momentum shift from the 1st half to the 3rd quarter all in Okie lite's favor and then respond to only lose by three?!? I was pretty disappointed we lost the game but truthfully, we showed a lot by fighting back from the hole we dug ourselves.. if this was to have happened last year, it would've turned into another K State or Oklahoma game, but instead the boys reached deep and rallied around each other to get back in the game.
hopefully it doesn't come to this next weekend and we play a complete game against a very good Arky team.
