Where is he projected to be drafted? If we could get him in the third we could be getting a steal but I'm assuming he is a 2nd rounder, and I want us to take a C in the 2nd.

If we truly wanted just a burner we couldn't do any worse, he ran a 4.27 in the 40 for Goodness Sake!

Mathis had buttloads of potential, but he didn't play against top competition and he isn't as polished as the top receivers...I'd rank him 7th out of the WRs behind Braylon, Mike Williams, Williamson, Clayton, Roddy White, and Reggie Brown...That IMO would project him to somewhere in the 45-55 range...He may slide on draft day though, becuase he has a few character concerns...

Jerome has told me he scheduled interviews with the 49ers and Colts to see punt returning skills.

Looking at this, I see both teams looking at him as a late 2nd early 3rd pick

Mathis right now is projected as an early third rounder due to his inexperence and competition level. I have watched tape on him and the kid is a burner. He is in the same mold as Troy Williamson, and actually you would not see many differences in there style at all. They both run sloppy routes and have trouble with larger corners. Mathis is faster and his speed translates to the field, but he needs hands work as he lets the ball come into his body a bit much. The kid is definately a threat to take it to the house whenever he gets the ball.
