Jerome Mathis in Motorcycle Accident

Mike Kerns

LYSB Podcast
I don't have a link, but I was watching "Extra Points" on ABC 13 after the NBA game & they reported that he was just released from the hospital with burns on his hands from a Motorcycle accident...

Hope it isn't too serious, but if it is.....Perhaps we draft a Kick Returner? Say.....with the first pick in the draft?:stirpot:

I just hope he is ok.
Well, they did say that he was released from the hospital. They also added a "What was he thinking, he has some growing up to do." Another guy asked if this meant that they HAD to take Reggie now, but he replied with the usual Houston answer: "No, they should take Vince Young."

maybe the team need to put something in the contracts about not riding motorbikes....I guess they include something already about dangerous sports.

Or atleast use enough sense to wear gloves so they don't take off the skin of their hands...

No such thing.
Burns on his hands, GrEaT!!!!!! That is not important to his future.
What goes around comes around. You reap what you sow. You voted for Bush.

Hands are very important to recievers. It did take an electrical accident to make Roy O. what he is today, though.

What goes around comes around? You voted for Bush? What does that have to do with anything about Mathis. He supposedly has bad work ethics so he deserves to get hurt in a motorcycle accident?

Hands are important to receivers? I don't believe it.

Check out what I quoted.

I know what you quoted.
I feel like Vinny.....

He said Karma isn't real, so I gave him some quotes.

He said hands aren't important, but when commenting on WR, one doesn't say he has soft wrists.

I have researched all over the net and have found nothing about Mathis being in a motorbike accident, and I have heard nothing on the radion. Maybe some people are imagining things they wish were true?

In today's world with all the cars on the road, motorcycles are very dangerous because people don't always see you. On one side, I've always wanted something like a Ninja 600 just to get started, but people should really stop buying those things. Less than 2 years ago, a coworker was killed on one at an intersection because a car driver didn't see him and he was on one of those monster Gullwings with lights all over it (it was at night). When my uncle was a teenager, he got some kind of bike and didn't have it more than a few months before he got slammed at an intersection in Baytown and he and his younger brother were thrown about 20 ft. in the air, but luckily weren't hurt too badly. Only thing they're safe for is empty rural interstates in the daytime.

NFL athletes especially should stay off of them.

Of course, if freaking gas prices don't stop going up, I'm gonna have to buy a moped. :)

I'm not sure if I should laugh or not.

This is messed up. how well do hands heal? and how long do they take? I hope he at least wore a helmet. .:dangit:

Well, I guess Bush can earn those $3o million now. :stirpot: if he's all that let see him at the next level. give him the rock with passes ,handoffs, and punt returns now. Shoot put him at DB while were at it

So I guess the proper thing would to blame horrible drivers and too large cars in Texas ? :)

Wow, I'm glad he did not really hurt himself. If this did happen and he is already out of the hospital, he's okay.

This thread sounds like Buch-Bandwagon chomping at the bit to find a excuse for the texans to take Bush. itwont happen, they will trade down and bring in more plyers to help overall. Better to have 5 to 6 first day picks then 3, one of which who will only touch the ball 12 to 15 plays a game for the next 5 years.

pathetic....one our players gets in a wreck and look at the majority of the responses.

sometimes i'm ashamed to be a Texans fan

Anybody have a link for this? One would think that houstontexans.com or HPF would have it.

I've done a bunch of searches to find something on it and have found nothing. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but it is sure unnerving not knowing the status of it. I am hoping that no news is good news.

NOOOOOO!!! not his hands!

 Tru that.

I remember watching the Pro Bowl Battle of the Gridiron Stars, and one event had Mathis.

The first part you had to catch a football thrown at you. Mathis, in all his glory, dropped the pass thrown at him. And now we get this. Classic.

For what? Don't be ridiculous. If Richard Justice gives an unfavorable sound bite about you some day, I hope his listeners are equally as merciless toward and quick to pass judgement on you.

Richard Justice says it, and it must be true. Wow.

I'm not ashamed to be a Texans fan, but I'm ashamed that some of these people call themselves fans. I hated Dom Capers, Joe Pendry, and Vic Fangio as the coaches but I wouldn't cheer if any of them got in a wreck. Just wrong. Speaking of karma, I wonder what happens when you approve of ill misfortune befalling another?

I tell you what else is gonna be an embarassment, when our fans boo Reggie Bush. I know it's gonna happen, and when it does, we fall behind Philadelphia in terms of bad sports fans.
