Jayson Braddock Mocks 2014

JB does all his own work, watches all the tape on these guys, and has his own takes which don't necessarily conform to the groupthink you see over and over again.

He's playing GM for each team, versus trying to guess what they'll do.

Read the explanations below the picks to understand what he's thinking. Interesting stuff.

I wish 790 had him on more than they do - or at least more than they do during the time I listen.

He definitely has his own opinions, and often they stray from the herd (three QB's in the round, but none of them named Manziel), but as opposed to the gang of trolls on radio and TV who only aim to shock and generate buzz, I get the feeling he sincerely believes everything he's saying.

Keep it up Mr. Braddock.

I'm sorry, but some of his takes don't make any sense to me. He seems to almost contradict himself in a couple of them.

He must have serious man crush on these prospects or this is really his own top 32 not necessarily mock draft worthy.

Which makes it all the more realistic imo. There's always a handful of prospects that get picked by a team well before anyone thinks they should be &/or a couple of guys that slide further than anyone thinks they should...2013 NFL... EJ Manuel, Travis Frederick jumped into the 1st unexpectedly, Geno Smith & Cordarelle Patterson fell from where everyone thought they'd go.

You just never know how some teams feel about certain guys....then you've got teams like the Raiders & jets that go completely off script.

Had the same man crush for Colin Kaepernick 2/2011, pegged him top 15 pick and had 49ers Harbaugh as should be interested. Was excoriated for that opinion.

Draft media and twitter go through a subconscious process of consensus building up to the draft. JB is like Greg Cosell in that he does his own film work and maintains his independent opinions. He doesn't play along with others. He has his misses and owns them, but he's also out front on a lot of prospects.

People will tell you NFL teams' draft boards vary wildly past the top 20 or 30 or maybe 40 (this year) picks. So the best in the business differ greatly but the media does the opposite, building a consensus. Makes you think.

I disagree with Braddock more than I agree with him, but I respect that he stands by his own opinion and refuses to be swayed by the consensus.

There are always guys that get drafted way before or way after their "projection". Braddock is just calling it like he sees it. It would make sense that everybody's board would look at least a little bit different. It's silly to me that all the media guys have boards that look exactly alike.
