Jason Allen

If Jason Allen is there in the second round, I think we should get him. I think that he is going to be a star in the NFL. Allen is 6'1", 210 and he runs a 4.39. He has the coverage skills of a corner and the hitting ability of a free safety.

Allen was considered a mid-first round prospect coming into the 05 season, but because of injury he fell out of top contention. His workouts have once again shown that he has the talent to be a high talent and a great player in the NFL.

I think that he could fill one of 2 needs in our secondary because he has the experience at CB and FS. He has the speed to play both, the coverage skills to play both and he is a physical presence as well. I think that he would be a great pick up.

Yeah, like Manny Lawson. I know we got Weaver but I think Lawson could end up being nearly as good as M.Williams.

I'm with you Buff. I look at RC on the depth chart and it reads like a horror story to me. Rather have one of the hoss gaurds if we pass on Brick. I have no faith in Steveo. I've just about convinced myself, he IS the probpem. I could live with one of the corners @ the 33. Manny is a little light for a 4-3 end isn't he ? I think I read he is up to 253 sunday night.

Lawson is a completely different type of DE, and Weaver's acquisition doesn't have anything to do with us maybe getting Lawson as they'd play opposite sides of the line and have different roles in the defense, Lawson would play weak side DE where Peek, Babin, and Kalu currently are. Mario is definitely big and strong enough to play strong side DE and is athletic enough to play weak side DE, so he could play either and probably be a perennial Pro-Bowler at either RE, LE, or even DT.

I totally agree. What alot of people seem to not remember is we play in a division with the pass-happy Colts, Matt Jones a freak of a receiver and Givens in Tennessee. I for one think that a Secondary player is a priority. I don't know why everyone is so high on taking other positions before this one. Who would you rather upgrade Pitts or Buchanon, Cowart or Buchanon, Weaver or Buchanon. The only way I see us not taking Allen if Cromartie is there, the guy is bigger and faster and a better prospect at CB. Then again Allen provides a versatility in the secondary Cromartie doesn't have. What I do know is that both of these guys would be steals anybody else pales as far as helping the team.

Your misguided. We must replace Faggins first. He is our weak link.

He would be a good choice, but at some point the Texans are going to have to take a OL. This team is in dire need for a OL and we all know that our #1 will not be a OL.

Why do you say I'm misguided. If we upgrade over Buchanon where do you think he will end up. Obviously there would be a trickle down effect. I mean think about it. If and it's a big if we landed a CB that was better than Robinson where do you think he would go. I got nothing against Buchanon, but if he can't do a better job than Faggins than maybe he is the weak link.

Last I heard, those guys (Allen and Cromartie) are going in the first round. Kiper thinks 10 DBs will go in the first, so more likely the DEs and RBs will fall...

While I don't think Allen and Cromartie will last 'til our #33 pick, Kiper is waaaay overrated, and his drafts are never even close.

I would like a CB in the 2nd, I see that as the most pressing position in terms of needing a starter right away..... If Jason Allen is the BPA in that position at that time, I would seriously consider him.

If there is an outstanding OL talent I would be ok with that too.
