Jaguars - Henderson

ESPN is reporting that Jaguars starting DT John Henderson is 'out indefinitely'. This is the same way they are reporting Jason Anderson of the Texans.

I haven't found a print reference yet.

That could be bad news for the Jags. They still have Stroud, but if Henderson misses significant time teams could easily double Stroud. They have had inconsistent play from their DE's, and most O-Lines could handle the Jags DE one on one. Who's their backup at DT?

I found this bit of information on www.profootballweekly.com. Not sure if its the same injury.

8/17/2004 - Henderson was scheduled to undergo tests Monday night and Tuesday morning to determine the extent of a right ankle injury suffered in the Jaguars' practice Monday afternoon. His status is expected to be updated on Tuesday. The defensive tackle had 58 tackles, four sacks and three forced fumbles in 16 games last season.

8/17/2004 - All tests on Henderson's sprained right ankle were negative, and he plans to return to practice with the Jaguars as early as Wednesday. The defensive tackle, who suffered the injury during Monday's workouts, had 58 tackles, four sacks and three forced fumbles in 16 games last season.

I saw a crawler on the bottom of NFL Live at 8:00 PM. I have no idea if it's the same story. I would hope that ESPN would update it's story ...

Was it Stroud or Henderson, if either, that slipped in the draft because of a back problem???

Henderson was said to have back problems. He did go in the top 10, so he didn't slip that far.

Henderson's sprain 'minor'

The Jaguars were relieved when further exams revealed only a minor sprain of the right ankle for defensive tackle John Henderson, who had been taken off the field on a cart after sustaining the injury Monday night.

Del Rio said Henderson's sprain was "pretty minor." The former first-round draft pick returned to practice on a limited basis Tuesday night.
