Jags vs Colts???

I'm with the 'hope they beat each other up' movement.. :thumbup

Didn't realize if the Jags win Sunday that they take a ½ game lead in the division. < how does that happen?
Interesting articles they've written at their official website. They've got the Texans on their minds too.

I think the Colts will win by a large margin, but this season has been so strange who knows what will happen. However I hope the Jags win as Peyton is one of my most despised players in the game.
 
The Colts are 4-1 and the Jags are 4-2. I've gotta root for the Jags to win here. The best thing to happen here would be the Jags win and then get kicked around by the Texans next week. Then, you've got Texans 4-3, Jags 5-3, and Colts 4-3 or 5-2(depends on week 8). Besides, the Colts are the favorite in this division.

this may not be the best game of the weekend (Pats/Jets) but it should mean the most with both teams divisional foes. Interesting mix of views seems some just hate the Jags others want parity in the Texans division (excluding the Texans of course). I see the Colts making a statement, and I don't think its going to help the Jags beat Houston the following week either. Therefore GO COLTS. Next week the Texans beat the Jags & we're in 2nd place in the division and in playoff contention.
 
I would say, root for the Colts. We all know the Colts will win this division. So why not let them beat the Jags so they have another division loss. The Jags are our competition for a wild card. Lets hope they lose every game.
 
This is a no brainer. You cheer for the Colts because they are the best team in the Division and will win the Division. Meanwhile, hang a loss on the Jags and they fall to 4-3 coming into Battle Red Day and if we beat them, we will climb over them in the standings. Bottom line if the Jags lose to the Colts and Texans in consecutive weeks, we'll be alone in 2nd place in the division at 4-3 after Week 8 and right in the middle of the wild card race. Root for the Jags tomorrow and you are rooting for two teams to be ahead of you after Week 8 instead of one.

If we were playing for second place that would make sense. We are playing for first place in the division after week 10 though. If Jags beat Indy, division leaders would be one game ahead of us. Then the Jags come to Houston and lose to us, then they go into a bye week. We play Denver the week after the Jags. Denver is a tough game for us to win, especially in their house. But stretch your imaginiation and say we win that one. That puts us tied with Jags but ahead of them due to tiebreaking head to head competition. THEN we play Indy who is only one game ahead, but we beat them, that puts us tied but once again in First place due to head to head competition.

Yeah I know, three wins in a row, especially against Denver AND Indy, and all that blah blah blah. But then again, who the heck plays for second place?? idonno:
 
Realistically I don't think we have a shot at winning the division and every game the Jags and Titans lose helps our effort to rise in the AFC South standings.

If we finish second in the division this year, that would mean we are in the hunt for a wild card until the end and it would be a huge boost entering Year 4.

Sure, I'd love to win the division but I don't see that happening. The Colts are going to slip a few times along the line, maybe even to us once, but where they are sitting now I think 10-6 is the low end for them and 9-7 is probably the high end for us.

So...I'm rooting against the Hags today because I want to jump them in the standings sooner rather than later. Plus, if the Jags lose today, that's 2 division losses for them and it gives us a chance to go three games up in the division loss column on them with a win on Battle Red Day. Carpe Diem. Get up on them as much as you can so we've still got cushion over them when we go in there for what will be a tough tough Week 16 matchup.
 
yeah, right now, i'm aiming for the 6th wildcard spot. If Tennesee loses today and Jacksonville loses today, that puts us in a good position going into next week. Heres some games to watch that have some impact on the texans this week:

In other years, yes. This year seems different however. There are a bunch of really good teams and a bunch of really bad teams. But why am i sitting here explaining my reasoning to you? you contradict everything

One thing I can see that we can do against the Jags is use Billy Miller and/or Mark Bruener on seam routes...
 
I was absolutely wrong about the game. I had the Colts by 10. It looked like they didn't want it as bad as the Jags.
 
Sure am glad to be facing the Jags after their big win today at Indy. They will be so much easier to beat now. :confused:

Guess it's better than my logic of "We'll be facing a rookie kicker". Scobee hit a 53 yard game winning field goal. Plus we all saw how well my "rookie kicker" theory worked out in the San Diego game.

I know this. The Texans now control their own destiny. We win the games, one at a time and 3 weeks from today we are First in the Division.

Sorry aj, but I am going to have to look at the Texans schedule as a 'glass half full' one and say we win the next Three.

That is until the Texans prove me wrong and lose. :hmmm:

I don't care about their mood. I care about their record. Now they are 2-1 in the division instead of 1-2 and the game next week won't be to overtake them in the standings for 2nd place. The Texans like all the other 31 teams in the NFL control their own destiny. It's only Week 7.

No way in hell we win the next three in a row. It will be a coup to go 2-1 but 1-2 more likely. The Jags have positive "momentum" now (that's important you know) and a win at Indy did nothing but reinforce their confidence and belief that they can win the division or at least get a wild card. I wanted to face a less confident Jags squad on BR Day even though they may have been a little more desperate.

Indy is pretty much a lock for the playoffs, while the Jags are more of an on-the-bubble team. Given that, we needed Indy to win to help to keep the Jags out of the playoffs.

really?? And you know this because........? Sorry aj, but you and I have played the pessimist before. I think we have a legit chance to beat the Jags. Even with their impressive victory. I also think we stand a decent chance to beat the Colts. Especially by following the game plan of the Jags today for a roadmap. The Texans and Jags are so similiar in styles of playing it is amazing, IMHO. So that only leaves Denver. OK, I admit, that is a very tough WIN. But I got some faith in the Texans to pull off a few 'miracles' this season.

So how sure are you that we can't win the next 3?? As sure as you were for the Cowboys game on Sept. 8, 2002? Or the Miami game on opening day last season?

I think we got a 'prayer in hell' lined up and win the next 3. I could be wrong. Dead wrong. But like I said, the Texans are going to have to lose to prove me wrong. Some other team is going to have to win to prove you right. Now don't tell me that aj, the man that I know from sooo many tailgates is going to start rooting for another team NOW, is he?? idonno:

If you're so "confident" how about a little wager on the Texans winning the next three? Screw that -- how about a large wager?

The next four is the most brutal stretch of the schedule and if the Texans go 2-2 it would be great.
 
I prefer $20's ... lot's of them..... and unmarked.

And throw in a bottle of Jack Daniels or some other squeezins so we can toast to the demise of Bud's tight'uns.

Just no jello shots or any of that blue and red sh*t that gets all over my table.

All I know is that the Colts turf is horrible and the Jags are impossible to run on between the tackles. This would be a good game for Hollings to finally emerge to establish a little outside running game to augment the passing attack. DD and Wells will be shut down unless Carr can really get it going downfield. I can see one of those 20 carries for 47 yard games for DD. McKinney, Wiegert and Pitts better eat their Wheaties this week.
 
Well, looking at the fact that you were willing to concede that we Might, possibly, by some miracle of the football Gods, win 2 of the next 3, then doesn't that mean we end up in Second place anyway? That means we beat either the Jags or the Colts, or both and lose to Denver. Doesn't that still put us in at least second place within the division? A place that you don't seem to have a problem with as you are advocating it anyway for our PROPER place in the grand scheme of the AFC South Division.

Now the bottle of Jack, you got it. As for the $20's, why is it everytime the word FAITH is used, someone always wants to 'pass the plate' for donations based on that faith? Sorry aj, but faith is free. IF you want to talk dollars then we gotta talk to my bookie and get some odds or something to swing it to a favorable bet for me to make.
 
well this has been interesting, almost as much fun as the game itself. Frankly both teams beat the **** out of each other, the Jags should have a let down after beating the division bully, but even if they don't have a let down the Texans will be ready to defeat Jacksonville.

since when did the Jags improve more from last season to this season than the Texans? Everyone in the media is painting them as a playoff team and not the Texans, talk about disrespect. I could be wrong but I seem to remember both teams finishing 6-10 last season? yes the Jags are improved but so are the Texans, the only difference is the Texans got off to a slower start, this is the point where we catch & pass them going into the playoffs.

take away Manning & the Colts are average. Use a ball control offense, which is what the Texans have & keep the ball out of Paytons hands. This week we will force Leftwich to beat us, next week we will force the Colts without Manning to beat us. I would think the odds are 50/50 we can win both games. :twocents:

I said if we would go 2-2 in the next four it would be great. That means we would be 5-5 and I doubt that's good enough for second place four weeks from now since Indy is now 4-2 and Jax is 5-2. Using your logic, we'll be 13-3 ten weeks from now anyway so what's the worry? What kind of odds do you want again?
