Jags cut Douglas

He didn't like the way he swung an Ax!!!

Jags could be hurting at end this year, with both Brackens and Douglass gone!

I'll bet we are interested. With our Jet's and Jaguar's connections, I would bet this guy gets a look. Didn't like it in Jaguar country perhaps he would like the fans and the Houston location. Looks like he could potentially help us a lot if he returns to form.

This is great I just found out about this on their website. Thats all they've been talking about is how great there line is. Theres fans freaking out on the message boards saying "I dont think the jags are going to the super bowl." Like they ever had a chance. Do yall hear that, its the sound of the media jumping off the jags bandwagon. The writing on the wall for them was when the invited the nfl network into their tranning camp. Both the ravens and cowboys had bad seasons after their shows and I beleive that trend will continue.

Douglas is 33 yrs old and getting cut by a team desparately in need of experienced DE's because of his dissappointing play last year and this pre-season. He is also kind of light at 280 lbs to play DE in a 3-4 plus he is speed rusher (that has lost his speed) much more than a run stopper. Doubt the Texans would be interested.

That's indeed bad news for the Jags. They desperately need to improve their pass rush, and Douglas was supposed to fix that problem when he signed with them. Guess it never worked out. Perhaps they should've made a play for Ogunleye. Now they'll have to resort to checking out the DEs in the draft next year.

well that was the thing during the draft that surprised me so much about the jags...why take greg jones and reggie williams to begin with...brackens wasn't getting any younger and douglas was a free agent bust...they should have gone after udeze or will smith but of course with leftwich in there it's all about the offense...too bad for them defense wins championships

I didnt understand it either with how deep the WR class was. I thought they would go for Will Smith in the first. They could have gotten a good 2nd round WR and a decent RB in the 3rd who may or may not have had to play a whole lot anyway depending on Fred Taylor's health.

I can't blame the Jags for selecting the top players on their board when they were drafting. They weren't one player away from becoming a championship contender...regardless of what the "experts" said. This is the Jags James Harris first gig in the big chair of GM. He made a mistake with Douglas, he'll learn from it.

I'll agree that this is going to hurt the Jags pass defense. Their Dline is still fine with one of the best(if not the best) DT tandems in the league. Brackens and Hugh weren't really getting much of a rush anyway, so why not let some new young guys try their luck. With regard to the draft, that is and has been their plan from the start of taking the best available player. They must have thought Reggie Williams was the best available at 9, Daryl Smith and Greg Jones in the second. I have to say that as big a Jags fan as I am I'm not one of those people who honestly thought they would get to the Super Bowl this year. I just hope this gets the guys left to compete even harder now that they know no one's job is safe.

He looks about 53 instead of 33 in that picture posted on here. I guess he's had a rough life.
