I think its a little premature to take anyone seriously this early in the game. If the Texans play this the right way, we won't have any idea what their decision is until the week of 4/29. They are in the driver's seat and can "exercise ALL the options" up until then. They can weigh all the various angles to bring VY in, or to bring Bush in, deal Carr, keep Carr, trade down, and so on.

You are only going to drive yourself crazy taking everyone at their word up until then. For example, we may be very serious about what we are saying regarding Carr and have every intention on keeping him here which is fine. But exactly what advantage to we have revealing our cards this early in the mind-game season?

I expect the Texans to say whatever they need to say in the coming weeks regarding VY, Bush, and Carr to drive up their value. Carr is the 1st to get the bump treatment because he is "active", been evaluated, and fair game. I expect VY and Bush to get the same encouraging remarks from certain experts on the Houston side once the draft list is made official and they are evaluated. Those in a position to get Ferguson or any other draft pick for that matter will be applying the exact same tactics in the coming weeks.

Its going to be like listening to a ton of lawyers from hear on out and I plan on taking everything in stride. Hopefully this little reminder will help prevent some from pulling their hair out...but probably not...:crying:
 
Great thought. There's still a pretty lengthy process to go through before we decide who to take. Individual player workouts, combines, etc... oh yeah, and hiring a coaching staff.

Wasn't Aaron Rodgers supposed to go #1 last year? Something to chew on.
 
All I hear is how this draft is so facinating because of the depth of talent. The Texans may fiddle through a billion different options before going with what they think is best. Its a wonderful situation to be in and I feel many fans have already taken it for granted...
 
They won't. The only thing I could see is Bush running the 40, because he should get somewhere in the 4.3 range
 
Did anyone see the Texas vs USC game? What did Carr ever do in College?
Aren't some of those sack because he rolled into pursuit? Have any one passed for 3000 and ran for 1000 before? Does Bush run between the tackles? Did he start at USC?
Why isn't any one talking about what happens to any of the current Backs if Bush comes here?

I hope the Texans don't follow Houston teams trends of losing with dumb mistakes in the off season

2001: Started and played in all 14 games and was perhaps the nation’s best quarterback … had one of the most outstanding statistical seasons for a quarterback ever … became just the sixth quarterback in NCAA history to throw for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns. He had 4,839 passing yards and 46touchdowns, both tops in the nation......

I would love it if the Texans actually worked out contracts with at least two of the top three prospects, if not all three. That way no one could say we aren't taking a certain player, and our draft spot becomes extremely valuable.

And also tryout some of these top picks one on one. With us having the #1 pick does anyone know if there is anything in the rule book that says we can't have them come here for further evaluations? Wondering if we have any latitude in that area...probably not.
