Its official Cowboys are getting a awesome new stadium

stadium_081604_200.jpg

Good for you guys...I was at Texas stadium a couple months back and was in amazement on how big of a piece of junk that place is.
You can thank your big brother to the south for being the "first" stadium with a retractable roof to pave the way for others to follow.

Hey...come to think of it:
Also for the Astrodome...but you guys forgot the center piece.

Puckhead is what I call Cowgirl fans. I guess it comes from when I was in "God's Toilet" and the Dallas fans around me were wearing Stars uniforms. After asking them why those unis instead of Cowgirl gear, one replied "Cuz they are the last ones to win!" One of them had a Lakers hat on it. Then I looked to the sky and noticed the unfinished roof and realized how "rink-like" it looked as I wondered how many bandwagon fans the Cowboys have 'just because of thier past"?

It really is sad that people live in other areas of the world and like a specific team because it has been successful and then changing teams as need.

Typical.

Congratulations.
Its been a long time since my one visit to Texas Stadium and it was a big disappointment even then.
Here's hoping our Texans can be your first opponent in your new digs and promptly hand you a loss on our way to a superbowl winning season. :thumbup
19-10 would be nice. :hehe:

So the Cowboys copy our rectractable roof idea??? :dontknowa

But they still dont have our beautiful practice facilities...according to the article

If you're from Houston...you know all about this.

Great news! Are the plans still in place for the Dallas Cowboys park as originally submitted?

Dont be so sour. People like you make me disgusted.
Uh, I really dont think its a band wagon thing after all those 5-11 seasons. Most of the guys I know down here dont like the Cowboys. Where's the proof they are the most bandwagoned team? Please show me.

You know I bet those guys that were wearing the Star jerseys were from Dallas and thats why they were at the game cheering for the Cowboys. You think its because they traveled all the way to Dallas and just happend to be Star fans?

Dont know about you but I was born in Texas and Im sure as heck going to die in Texas. Dont even think about me as a bandwagon jumper

Man, you're different from the rest of the Houston fans here. Most of them are happy for Dallas's new stadium which made me extremely impressed. You're different.

But you know, theres always a bad egg in the group

Looks pretty simular to the Seahawks stadium to me. But the point is, reliant is the best!!! Dallas can be where ever, they could be two but my focus is on my team. Still a pretty good stadium.

So where's the amusement park?

I guess it will open right about the time Reliant is hosting its second Super Bowl.

I resent the remark. I am from Houston and it's clearly not true in my case. I insist that you withdraw this comment at once. At the very least I insist on an official "Hervoyel Exception Clause". I have never once been a fan of any team, at any time that didn't have the word "Houston" in front of it's name. :boxing:

I agree Hervoyel!

In response to Puckhead's thread....

I have been called a homer but never a bandwagon fan. Being born and raised in Houston, no one would even suggest it but a misinformed Puckhead, Dullass wannabe living in hicksville...Tomball,Texas...a suburb of Houston. The tripe you talk about here is only to get people riled up.

I know that it was only preseason, but I believe that your(?) team in Dullass needs some help and your useless trivial babble here isn't helping them out any. If my team loses to another, I don't go over there to rile the fans up. It is pointless. You lost. Take your whipping like a man, BOY! :boxing:

I love Dullass bandwagon fans. They are so predictable.

it won't be official till the voters vote. I would love for them to have a new stadium, as that one they are in really, really, really, really is terrible.

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I guess copying Reliant and Tampa Bay stadium means the Cryboys just don't have any original thinkers up there to come up with their own ideas. So thanks for the compliments Cryboys stadium fans. :headbang:

Still needs voter approval. Many voters will not favor a rise in the sales tax to build Jerry's new house. Anyway, I hope it works out for you, but the final decision will come in November if I read correctly. Good luck this year. I always bet against the cowboys with my friend who is a big fan. I know alot of good cowboy fans and realize your not all what many on this board describe you to be. But I will always be a Texan fan. Being a Texan fan does not mean you have to hate everyone else.

I don't know why so many still oppose the stadium initiatives when it's known that after a number of years, usually 25 or more, changes are needed. I remember when we were voting for a stadium in Houston, and people were complaining that that was too much money for a "playground for the rich" and we needed to be spending more on education, also we would lose money doing business in the city because people wouldn't stay in the hotels or rent cars, yada, yada, yada. Read some of the same excuses when the Cowboys were trying to build the stadium in Dallas, even Mary Kay Corp. threatened to move their headquarters if the stadium plans passed. If Mary Kay was so concerned about the cost, I would think that at least they could consider reducing the price of their products.

It's just the way of politics. If you try and put the money in education, then someone complains it should be spent on healthcare, and it goes on and on. You can never please everybody, but I too hope it works out for the Cowboys because their stadium now is terrible.

Good for Cowboys fans. Its about time b/c Texas Stadium sucks. But you know what...

WE'VE GOT THE WAY BETTER TEAM!!! :headbang:

And your team, well... they are not even contenders. So you could all be happy for your new facility but its going to be a shame that you wont be able to bring a new Lomabardi trophy for your fancy new trophy case.

If the vote passes, the stadium won't be completed until 2009, therefore, there should be at least two new Lombardi's to add to the trophy case by then. :)

Jerry's always had Reliant Envy.

Memo to huge: I stuck with the Oilers through a lot of bad years and never thought about rooting for another team. You're painting with too broad of a brush there bud.

Look it doesn't do any good to break into Reliant Stadium and steal our 2+ Lombardi's that we will have over the next few years. People will probably notice they have "Houston Texans" written on them.

Jerry Jones is such a freakin biter man. He didn't have enough imagination to think of getting his own stadium until he came and saw the class in which our staium was built. What a punk. Whatever you do Jerry, it doesn't matter because you will never have the class as our organization.

Of course people look at Reliant.

It's a fine facility. I don't blame him at all although the picture I saw a long time ago (on here I think?) didn't look at all like Reliant. It had open endzones and just a whole different look. If that's the same planned stadium they are talking about that is.

I think it would be great if they get a new stadium. Reliant is an awesome stadium and if y'all get something that nice....CONGRATS! :)

I look forward to coming up there for a road win soon!

It'll be just like every other new stadium. There is always something about them that makes them "special" and then in 5 years the new wears off.

Like I said the picture didn't look anything like Reliant. I guess the retractable roof is the wave of the future.

I like the Chiefs stadium. Open, you can see all the fans, all that red and to me it just makes a statement.

As you said, take your whooping like man! Apparently you talk the talk and dont walk the walk. Everything that comes around goes around you nutcase

It'll be interesting if it passes. I think I saw in the chronic today that the Arlighton folk were still a bit upset still from the Rangers deal / stadium...

Hopefully, it does pass though - the boys defintely need new grounds.

A church is only as good as its members, same for stadiums. They can build stadiums with a retractable roof, no roof, or a half-finished roof (thats you guys) but its only as good as the fans who fill it. And in those terms Reliant will always be one of the best.

Exactly. And ours was the first and the nicest, that's what matters. Texas Stadium is pretty dang sad looking...the Cowboys fans do need a new place to see their boys lose. I mean, if you gotta be miserable, at least do it in style, right? ;)

Are they going to call them the Arlington Cowboys ? With the Texas Rangers,
the city of Arlington will now have more major league athletic teams than
any city in the state after Houston.

The Cowboys haven't played in Dallas since the 60's I think and the name didn't change to Irving Cowboys. And the Giants are still New York as are the Jets even though they could be the New Jersey Giants and Jets.

I've seen the Rangers stadium but only from the highway. I guess there is alot of undeveloped land out there.

The NASCAR track up there is massive. I'm not sure if that's Arlington or not.

Hope they get their stadium and plunk it down somewhere up there. Like everyone sez, they really, really need one.
I remember them talking up the Fair Park deal, before it fell thru ... all the high hopes and big amusement park project. The picture of the stadium plan at that time back in April:
cowboyspark_11stad.gif

Maybe the revised stadium in Arlington might have enough funding for railing so people won't fall to their deaths on that walkway thing!

The stadium is real pretty but I don't get that open rail thing either. That's just a lawsuit waiting to happen if somebody gets hurt or falls.

Does it have an in house rehab center, a brothel or on-site bail bondsman? idonno:
lol: Cute. A 40 something year old team who has probably had at least 20 offenses, give or take should set a better example. Yep, sounds pretty bad. Here's a tip from someone who has endured the embarrassment of boys gone wild. A two year old team with two or three offenses already isn't a good start. Being absent minded can also put the team in a bad situation, so hopefully no one else leaves his car running in front of a business with something as valuable as a playbook. If you are careless with the vehicle, at least leave the playbook at home. :thumbup

It will, and the man in the restroom will hand out new razor blades and pre-rolled dollar bills to the players.

Talk about having all the luxuries.

Coach Capers was asked about the missing playbook. He sort of downplayed the incident saying that somebody would have to know how to interpret the book for it to mean anything. That makes sense but it has to trouble them that they have a playbook lost out there.

I wonder if Peek was fined?

Seems like every year there's another story about an NFL rookie or vet losing their playbook. Wasn't there a story last year similar to this?

Are you a Texan fan or a Cowboy fan? No offense, just curious.

The Texan problem is not as bad as the Cowboys, it starts from the top. We have the classiest owner in the NFL. :thumbup

1. Both :)
2. The Cowboys organization is over 40 years old. The Texans problems shouldn't be as bad, but the team is getting off to a bad start. An incident a year over the next 10 years alone will make many rethink the Texans reputation. As a fan, I hope not.
3. The owner is classy. Classy enough to keep his friends away from his kids (team), otherwise, run the risk of being embarrassed by their poor manners again. lol:

Well it'll be very hard to keep pace with the Cons. We still need one of our guys to pack a car full of pot, a deadly hit & run, a couple of wife beatings, some strip club "incidences".
