I don't think that this loss is anyones fault. heres how I see it:
Offense: OL coaches are not getting the job done. This translates into our medium ability OL playing to a sub-mediocre level. This causes Carr to get scared while dropping back, and makes it hard for him to complete any passes that require a route (except the short 2 yard slant). As a result, Johnson cannot get involved in the passing game because his speed is worthless. This causes the defense to bear down on Davis by stacking the box because they know that if they blitz, either Carr will get sacked or Davis will get stuffed. All the player get discouraged and begin playing even worse, and this is a downward cycle---Translation=A total of 9 points a game or whatever we're averaging
Defense: DL coaches don't teach penetration, they teach run stopping and OL occupation (which is good). Our LB coaches, however, teach coverage, and not pass rush, and so we don't get pressure on the QB and our LBs are not suited for coverage (peek+babin=bad coverage LBs). This translates into the opposing QB having 3-5 seconds to break apart our defense. Our safeties and one of CBs don't play coverage D, they play hard hitting D, except none are hard hitters. This results in letting the opposing receiver catch the ball and then missing tackles. This results in our secondary looking terrible as well as the rest of our D, and as we drop more and more back to prevent the pass, the other team runs the ball down our throats. Once again, everyone gets discouraged and we spiral down...Translation - Giving up 32 points to the Titans and causing 0 Turnovers in 4 games.
Where does it all start? With the COACHING! I really believe our players have physical potential. I watched some of them in college and saw their stats. The only difference between now and then is MOTIVATION. And we have none of that.
