It really doesn't matter

It doesn't matter who we pick or if we trade the pick. One player will not improve/hurt our wins and losses. I firmly believe that with the new staff, restructured o-line, a fresh start for Carr, Davis, and Johnson, and improved defense, we will be fine. I understand wanting to say that we are gonna be awesome. Remember, this is the NFL. Everyone is awesome. Especially next year. No team really stands out as a horrible one. Many new faces and new places. Let's just take one game at a time. Carr is good. Davis is good. Johnson is good. Robinson is good. Let's stay healthy and stay focused.

once again I shall pimp my picks: Mario Williams, AJ hawk, D. Jackson and Cromartie. Get two of and combo and you will have a much improve defense.

Two of our 2nd & 3rd round picks should go on the defense no matter who we get Rd.1.

And for mine that is Mario @ 1,

or Hawk if we miss Marion in a trade down.

If you trade the pick away, you won't get just one player. You'll get a nice package deal that will help build the team with several players. You make a good argument for trading the pick away as you are correct. One player in the draft won't make a big diffeence. But a move where that nets several players can really rebuild a team into a powerhouse. Just look what the Cowboys did when they traded away Herschel Walker.

But you need impact players. Adding Reggie Bush puts the cap on a high-powered offense, something we have never had. Hell, we've never had an average offense. I like to think that Carr being protected by the new Center and better-coached line, having Moulds and AJ to throw to, and Reggie Bush cutting through the line, will be an awesome offense.

Man Kubiak I like how you think man. I do like Jonathan Joseph more than Cromartie and Jackson, but either are decent replacements. I want the defense improved, I think on offense we have the pieces to do some damage. The offense is the same one that went 7-9 it is the defense that lost key pieces.

Impact players are made with a good supporting cast. Terrell Davis was certainly not seen as an "impact player" when he first came into the NFL.

I still wonder if our team copped an attitude after they gutted the defense beginning of last year???? i know the quality defense was not there, but our team seemed not to have any swagger!

1.) There is no I in team. I believe that, and that is one of the reasons I can't stand TO or Keyshawn Johnson.

2.) I'm trying to imagine the 49ers without Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, or Steve Young. The Cowboys without Staubach, Aikman, or Emmitt. Pittsburg without Bradshaw or Roethenburger. Clearly, impact players have made their presence known on the gridiron.

3.) Case in point: the Houston Texans. Lots of great talent, but few impact players. Carr and AJ have the potential. Bush would be a definite push in the right direction.

4.) Case in point: Titans. No impact players, especially once they get rid of McNair.

Well Touttail we lost the guys that had that swagger. We lost Sharper and Glenn and were left with our more non vocal or disruptive veterans. I agree totally our swagger on defense was gone, will Smith improve this, I definately think so. I think the defensive players on our team now have a chip on their shoulder, but they really do not have the pieces to really hard charge a team. We will beat up on teams like Arizona, Tenn, and teams that are pretty soft, but the elite of the league feed on run of the mill defenses. I want something scarier. I think Kubiak with the group assembled now plus a mid round receiver and Olineman can make the offense so much better. I think our defense is in bad shape, we added no real impact player to the defense. Some would say Kalu, Cowart, and Weaver are impact players, but they are not. Cowart is old and will be pushed out by whatever rookie we get, Kalu is solid if he can stay healthy and will do well spelling Peek, Babin and Weaver is a runstopping/1 gap DT that plays DE. We definately need help on D.

Good points. However, Montana, Rice, and Young had good coaching and a solid supporting cast. Same true for the Cowboys. We have our Montana and Aikman with Carr. We have our Emmitt with Davis. We have our Rice with Johnson. These teams had great O-Lines. Once our new coaches have a chance, we have what we need to be successful. No Super Bowl Champion has ever just had one huge playmaker. I personally don't think that Bush will change our world. He will help. But, honestly, right now, we need to develop the supporting cast.

Excellent point about the coaching, which was holding us back more than impact players or supporting cast. Especially in this Free Agency world, coaching is the big X factor. Great coaches will carry mediocre teams to new heights. IMO, we already have a great supporting cast, especially with the offseason moves. Moulds, Weaver, Dunta, Mathis - all great supporting players that will really buttress our impact players. We need the final offensive impact player, and as much as I appreciate DD, he is no impact player. He was an average running back at best.

Take Bush and forget it. I've never seen a group of fans try to talk themselves out of taking a great player, in any sport, as I have seen in here.
