It’s Official: Buckeyeguy71 is a Texans fan

I’m all in with the Texans!! My boy Stroud and Mixon mixed it up today!!

I’m just convinced after being a fan of a franchise for years 57 and they still can’t play complete game like championship caliber teams play on any consistent basis, it’s time to make a change!

I’m all in with this 24 year old franchise who will probably win a championship BEFORE a franchise more than twice their age!

They did.. Oilers also won AFL championships. Never made anyone feel any better about the situation 🙂
NFL championships are big boy football championships! AFL is like a AAA baseball championship!

Some will say NFL Championships don’t count because there were a lot less teams?!?!?

That’s like saying the some of the Yankees 27 WS championships shouldn’t count because MOST of them were won with 16 teams!!

No, the AL and NL started playing the world series in1903, well before the Yankees bronx bombers.. I'm simply saying when they talk about champions, they talk about SB champions. And the franchise who won those titles now resides in Baltimore.. with a few SBs, like the Oilers reside in Tennessee... With zero SBs. THANK YOU MIKE JONES!

ALL NFL Titles matter! Not just the ones in your lifetime! Here it is:

I don't care to look it up, just like I don't care about pre merger championships. Especially by teams that moved cities.

Well you can wish it away if you want but the Packers are top dog with 13 championships and the Bears are second with 9!

The Packers and Yankees championships will probably never be equaled!

Whether you like it or not young man!

I'm not wishing anything away, I don't have a dog in this hunt. Go Texans.. Browns are still the Browns though.. amazing how they beat Baltimore when Watson was out of the way

I personally don’t care for comparing different eras. Such as comparing the 90s cowboys to the Patriots.

They played under different rules and modern technology is a big help to the athlete of today.

Also - for the Yankees and Packers comparison, the pool of athletes is so much bigger today to find the best athlete to compete vs in the 1920s.

The Yankees championships while are good for statistics and history, but I don’t really think they can matter as much when you had a Negro League and a White League. The Yankees in the 20s, 30s, and most of the 40s just weren’t going up the best athletes the sport had to offer.

I definitely respect the athletes that built both games. Especially the NFL athletes that literally put their lives and well being on the line like Earl Campbell who made this sport great. Probably should mention the Steelers who took steroids cause most of those guys died at an early age.

Yes but it’s easier to dominate in a league with fewer teams/players. Also… Negro leagues is where it all was at. Never would I dismiss the Yank’s championships but those are the facts.

I wasn’t comparing eras as far as level play goes.

People call Brady GOAT because he won 7 championships.

Otto Graham also won 7 in 9 years when the defensive rules were a lot looser!

Brady was GOHT and Graham GOHT. (Greatest of His Time)

The Yankees were have won 27 championships and the Packers 13!

No asterisk.

I’m saying that I don’t think those two records will be broken! Nothing more nothing less!

Just like the Rose hits record and the Ripken consecutive game record!

There was also only one round of playoffs for most of those too. The World Series and that was it. No LDS or LCS, not to mention wild card rounds.

A ton harder to do these days with so many rounds of playoffs. So what the Patriots have done, for me, is more impressive than the Yankme’s 27 titles.

27 championships still at the top in MLB. No asterisks.

13 championships still at the top in NFL. No asterisks.

That’s why we can’t compare eras, regardless of the number of teams or playoff games.

Brady would have never played into his 40s in the era Montana played because of the rule difference. Patriot fans even admit that.

The only reason the betting rule in baseball came into play was because of the 1919 White Sox scandal when 8 players took mob money to throw the WS.

The betting rule was implemented in 1921.

AFAIC they should implement another rule for steroid use in the MLB. Steroid use is cheating just like the 1919 White Sox players did.

Hmm, I’m not aware of any “asterisks” for any championship team so I have no idea what you’re talking about there.

So we can’t compare eras but then your next sentence you compare Brady and Montana? OK.

The current Browns franchise have won nothing! Have they even won the division more than once?
The NFL, MLB don’t ‘differentiate’ eras. The Cleveland Browns have won 4 NFL
titles the Baltimore Ravens have won 2, the Baltimore Colts have won 4, the Indianapolis Colts 1.

No, Speedos, my point was you CANT compare eras which makes Montana and Brady GOHT or GOTT!

The MLB and NFL would put asterisks if they thought those 27 and 13 championships needed to be identified because of the differences in number of teams, rules, or playoff formats! Not rocket science!

Yeah but we know better don't we. By your methods all the Chiefs titles belong to Dallas

What?!?!?!? By my strategy, the KC Chiefs titles belong to the Chiefs. Dallas Texans did not win ANY Championships.

The teams win championships according to whatever city they are in and whatever nickname they have at the time of the championship.

Los Angeles Rams 4 titles, St Louis Rams 2 titles, Oakland Raiders 2 titles, Los Angeles Raiders 1 title, Las Vegas Raiders 0

You guys!!! Put your battlin’ beers down. We need to welcome our bandwagon fans!!

Welcome, former Bungles fan. I still think Burrow is the real deal but we’ll happily let you on our hayride.

Burrow is the real deal as far as his physical AND mental football mind talent.

The question mark is his durability.

Being born and raised in Dayton about 50 miles due north of Cincinnati, I am a Reds fan and can remember a Reds pitcher who, talent wise was a beast, but his durability did him in and that was Don Gullett.

The jury is still out as to whether or not Joe will become the Don Gullett of the NFL!

Thanks Nitro! Being a Buckeye fan and a Christ Follower, I really like CJ and I really think trading Mixon has now shown how bad the Bengals messed up.

Needless to say, it was pretty easy to join the Texans Hayride!

I will admit being a 71 year old school guy, and veteran, all the kneeling and racial foolishness a while back rubbed me the wrong way to the point that I don’t even WATCH anymore NFL games in real time whatsoever!

I do go on the Texan website and watch the replays, catch the stats, etc.

BTW someone mentioned the Browns beating the Ravens without Watson, I looked at Jamies Winston stats for that game and they were 27/41 334yds 3 TD 0 INT

The history of sports is like the history of science. Everything changes. The world was flat before it was round and the universe revolved around the earth before it didn't. But the Texans oline still sucks like a gravity well.

I assume that’s tongue in cheek, although there are still worldly lost souls that still BELIEVE the world is flat!😉

Great post

The game isn't what it used to be, the game isn't nearly as good as it used to be because all of the rules changes. You can't really hit a guy these days.

Are yall putting the Lakers and Celtics in that conversation as

That’s the reason why, in the NFL, there are no GOATS . . . . only GOTTS.

If you are an NFL team, to be the team with the most championships, the goal is have more than the current leader, Packers 13, MLB the Yankees 27, NBA the Celtics 18, NHL the Canadiens 24!

It makes no difference what our opinions are regardless of rule changes and eras.

Those are the current teams/numbers to beat!

I know the thread has gone awry but here’s another trivia.

Of the 32 NFL teams TODAY, here are the ones who have NEVER won an NFL title.

Bengals
Jaguars
Panthers
Chargers
Texans
Cardinals
Falcons
Titans
Bills
Vikings

Cleveland Browns have won 4, Baltimore Ravens have won 2.

For you to equate the Browns team that came into existence in 1999 with the Cleveland Browns team that came into existence in 1944 is ludicrous at best
