Hey Texans fans, bronco fan here, i come in peace. Don't worry, I've got nothing but respect for the texans. I've heard that the texans are one of the teams interested in trading for pryce, and i've seen a lot of threads around here of you guys wanting to improve the D. Have you guys heard anything on the texans looking to trade for him? What do you guys think about him? Thanks

P.S. So jealous that you guys resigned payne, i wanted us to grab him!
 
Hahaha, man, the last thing we need is more linebackers. Most of the fans on the broncos board are crapping their pants that we signed ian gold as it is.

Yeah, he actually hurt his back playing against you guys in the preseason. It was a herniated disk that was pressing on a nerve. They fixed it all up and told us he'd be back by halloween, but then the nerve didn't "wake up" as fast as they predicted. They keep saying he'll be back at 100%, hopefully it doesn't hurt his status.
 
I always figured he'd be a stud in a 3-4, cuz he's always been a DT/DE tweener. Houston's one of the few homes i'd be happy with him going to.

Hahaha, no worries man, looks like we're starting to make a shift towards real offensive linemen, who can actually push forward.

That's cool about pryce, i just haven't heard any word on him, and i'm dying for some info, thought there might have been some buzz over here, i'll check some other places.

Have you learned anything from the Champ Bailey-Clinton Portis trade? Or the free agent adventures of Olandis Gary? Or Mike Anderson's one year stint as an HB, rushing for 1500?

I suppose I should bring that up.

Just to clear my post up, I wasnt say we should or shouldnt. I was just wondering if Beastlyman knew who Tatum Bell was and if he had ever seen he play because Beastlyman sounded like he thought Steel Blue Texans was a moron for stating such a trade.


But I do agree with Steel Blue Texans that Bell has more upside because Bell can flat out run. Only downfall is Bell maybe less durable than Davis.

Trevor Pryce isn't a LB. He is a 6'5" 295 lb DE. He would probably cost too much for us to sign.
 
According to the Broncos website he only played in 2 games last year. He had a lower back injury. He is 29 years old and will be 30 in August. I don't think we would sign him. We need some young blood to mix in with our veterans.

Yea, I learned Clinton Portis could still put up similar numbers to LaDanian Tomlinson (who is widely considered as the best RB in the NFL) even without the Bronco's offensive line. He also did this while facing 8 or 9 men in the box on a regular basis.

Man, Clinton was averaging 3 YPC..... ANYONE could have LDT numbers if you got the ball 100 times a game.

Yeah, and DD was averaging more YPC, esp. when he got healthy.

All I'm saying that although Tatum may have more upside than DD, you need to factor in the fact that his stats are probably inflated because he is a Denver RB.

I mean, whatever happened to talk of Quentin Griffin being the next Barry Sanders? :p

Clinton Portis ran for 1315 yards at 3.8 YPC

LaDanian Tomlinson ran for 1335 yards at 3.9 YPC

I'd say those numbers are very similar.
 
Hahaha, damn, i was hoping the secret would never get out that when we make a 1000 yard rusher, he's only good in denver!

But yeah, about tatum, we're dying to see what he can do as a full time starter, he played with a seperated shoulder in those games last year, but JESUS he's fast, faster than portis was for us, and that's saying something!

You also forgot that LDT outscores Portis by 12 rushing TDs.

And let's not compare LDT's skills as a receiver vs. Portis [which is one of the defining abilities of LDT!]
