Injury Reports

texasguy346 said:
ESPN News reported that it was a fractured left fibula. He'll miss significant time, and could possibly miss the season if surgery is needed.
That is a shame because he was looking good in the preseason games and probably would have gotten playing time this year...

Luther Ellis got hurt too

Sunday, August 29, 2004

Associated Press

Denver Broncos: Broncos defensive end Luther Elliss is expected to miss up to two weeks because of a torn pectoral muscle.

Elliss missed the first nine weeks of last season with a similar injury.

"Right now, it's swollen and I have no strength and limited motion," Elliss said Sunday. "I know it's not as bad as the last time."

Elliss came out of Friday's exhibition game against Houston early in the first quarter favoring his left arm after a 27-yard touchdown run by Tony Hollings.

"I had a bad angle on the play, tried to readjust and I had to lay out for him," Elliss said. "That's when I felt something. The next play I tried to make a move on the pass rush and I couldn't do the move."

Elliss said he hoped sitting out practices this week and next would be enough to have him ready for the regular season opener against Kansas City.

"Indications are it's not nearly as bad as they thought it was, and not a reoccurrence of what he had," defensive coordinator Larry Coyer said. "We hope it's a temporary setback and we go forward."

Elliss had already missed most of training camp with a strained hamstring.

The team had nothing to report on Mike Anderson's injured left groin.

Anderson injured his groin with 1:56 left in the game against Houston while on the punting unit.

"DENVER (AP) - Broncos running back Mike Anderson will miss the entire season because of a groin injury sustained last weekend in an exhibition game against Houston."

" Anderson was hurt Friday night with 1:56 left in the game while on the punting unit. He was the blocker for punter Hayden Epstein, and his groin popped when he was hit after turning upfield."

Anderson Out

Broncos up by 14, under 2 minutes left in a pre-season game, and he's hurt on the punting unit.

I'm sure the Broncos are just sick to their stomachs. There was no reason for him to be on the field.

Looks like the injury bug is contagious and is spreading throughout the AFC South.

*edit* The Jaguars TE Kyle Brady is expected to miss the first 2 games of the season according to ESPN.

Hall to miss time with hip injury

August 18, 2004

Head Coach Jim Mora said after Tuesday's practice that rookie starting cornerback DeAngelo Hall could potentially miss 6 to10 weeks with a slightly fractured hip he suffered during the August 28 game against the Bengals. But Mora seemed optimistic that Hall could be back in action more quickly than that.

"We’re optimistic that he’s going to be back sooner rather than later, but obviously that’s just going to depend on how he heals," Mora said after the Tuesday practice session.

"It’s called posterior lip acetabular fracture," Mora said. "It’s a little fracture in his hip...we’ve had an MRI, a CT scan, X-rays, and we sent him to a hip specialist out of town."

"But by no means is it season-ending or anything like that," Mora continued. "We’ll get him back eventually, and we’ll adjust as we go. We’re lucky to have guys like Allen Rossum and Aaron Beasley and Kevin Mathis and Tod McBride, who’s been back out here the last two days. There’s nothing you can do about injuries. You’ve just got to keep going."

And I so wanted him to be a Texan. Can't plan for the injuries that are getting way too numerous all around the league.
At the moment, anyway, Texans made the better choice with Robinson.

The Atlanta Falcons learned Tuesday that rookie cornerback DeAngelo Hall will miss six to 10 weeks with a small fracture on the left side of his hip.
