In hindsight, what did Nick Caserio get right/wrong this past offseason?

Just draft a top tier Warren/Loveland/Fannin type TE and be done with it. Make Schultz a TE2. I'm not sure how good of a blocker Fannin is, from what I've seen he's a very talented playmaking receiver who wasn't asked to do much blocking. The r. Bowl week should be very telling.
I’d like a top tier guy if available at the position. My issue is evaluation on the offensive side of the ball in general.

This team has been much more successful drafting defense. DeMeco knows what he wants and can develop those players. Aside from Nico, CJ and Tank the offensive picks have underwhelmed.

I would hate to make the first pick in this draft. There's a lot of prospects at different positions who would help. And there's always top talent who fall. It becomes more complicated because it's difficult to determine need vs. value looking at this draft.

TE - do you draft one of the top 2 guys? Is that position of high enough need to use your top pick? Do you try to trade Schultz if you pick a TE?

RB - not really a need, but what if Jeanty falls? Can you pass on running a combination of Mixon/Jeanty?

WR - this is a bigger need with Diggs a FA and Dell to miss significant time. If Egbuka is available, do you pull that trigger to bolster the position and give CJ a familiar target?

DL - this is supposed to be the position with the most high level talent in the draft. Our defense is the strength of the team right now. Do you pick a top DL to secure the trenches and make your defense more fierce?

IOL - currently there are only two listed as late first round prospects - Booker and Jackson. Do you take one of them since the IOL was a problem all year? Do either of these guys fit your system? Would it be better to take a Tackle and try to convert him to Guard?

I would add CB to this list.

I would draft either Booker or Harris in the 1st and either Savion Williams or Donovan Jackson in the 2nd depending on who I got in the 1st. I would trade up to get these 2 players. When I say trade up I'm talking 2nd rd trade up. All 4 are great players.

That could work. Building the trenches is always smart, so long as you select the right players.

I'm not big on taking a CB early, but I'd love to see them get one later for development. Our reserves are inadequate.

I would like to see Caserio sign a quality CB in FA and draft a developmental guy in the 4th or 5th rd. If they get lucky they may get a Stills or Phillips this late in the draft. I like CB Lee from Texas A&M to be this kinda guy.

I'd be okay with that, but with the way the cap looks, I'm thinking free agency will just consist of roster fillers. Maybe they can trade some underperformers to free up space. Mason and Autry have been disappointing this year.

I think they are set with starting CBs and loved seeing Pitre in the nickel. I agree a day 3 pick is a good spot to develop reserves. Time to get the CB pipeline going like the Chiefs have been doing.

They can make cap space if they want too. Go look at the Eagles and how their contracts are structured.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask, but I'm going IOL (actual G, not a T projected to be a G) and I would have no problem going (1) IOL, (2) other position (WR off the top of my head), (3) C/IOL. That could change through FA, but I've always been a build it from the inside type of guy.

CJ has to have more time in the pocket, and the boost to the running game is critical for type of offense we run.

Looking at the way the OL performed yesterday and the past couple of games, I would say one mistake was not making Kenyon Green and Juice Scruggs compete for the starting jobs. Based on the early OL performance, they did not earn those spots.
Wouldn't that fall on the coaches? But you're right, not having those guys earn those spots especially being young and coming off injuries was a head scratcher...unless the other guys who would compete were injured.

I'm a Booker guy, there are 3 OT's that I would consider moving to OG and picking in the 1st/late 1st early 2nd. (Banks/Milum/Armand Membou OT, OG Missouri.

I’m sure Caserio had guys on his board ready to make deals with. He’s that guy who has his next ten moves planned in the event of whatever it may be. He has proven to be keen on acquiring pickups. It was the coaches/owners who were not ready to move on from Green or Scruggs.
