If your 50/50 about bush

All Flopper
I understand that Bush is a great player and a true cant miss prospect but I also understand that we have alot of holes and can get nearly anything for the first pick.
I couldnt help myself. We already have a millions of we need or dont need bush threads. But NO we kinda need him so now we do.

If a mod wants to delete or move this thread its fine by me.

Yes!!!!!!!! Finally, an, "I don't know what to do (about Bush). idonno: " thread.

We really needed this.

Eh.. I could understand us trading down... and if that is the move we made I wouldnt cry over it.. but I think you have to take a player of his caliber.

You dont get many chances to have the #1 overall pick... if youve got it..and there is a possible Hall of Famer available.. you need to jump on it.. cause you might not have a chance to get a player of that caliber again for a long time.

But this has already been discussed 1000 times.... not that it wont be discussed a million times more before the draft in March.

I'm also on the fence, but I think how we go about each move is important.

If we draft Bush, then we commit to the offense 100%. Get guards and/or a TE in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, look for FA's at WR or interior lineman. The problem with Carr is that we didn't commit to surrounding him with talent, which stunted his development. We can't make the same mistake with Bush, because he will be a big investment.

What we do with a trade down depends on a lot of factors: the trade itself (picks/position/players), the new HC's philosophy, and whoever is availiable when the time comes. Assuming Kubiak becomes the new coach, we will likely install a Denver-esque offense, which demands good run blockers. No first-round linemen seem to be worth it, so a defensive player would probably be the most probable option. Who we take depends, again, on position. Also, if we get another 2nd rounder, we would have a better chance of picking up both a quality guard and TE.

There is NO such thing as a CANT MISS prospect .... Although i would venture to say that Bush is probably as close as you can get to that cant miss ....

You ain't lying. I'm so sick of hearing about Bush I told my girlfriend to go home.:goodnight

two thousand and six cheers for Vinny!!!!

What will we do for 4 more months? Can all the bush threads be combined? That might create the largest THREAD EVER! lol

Calling him a HOF is premature to say the least. I hope he lives up to the hype but he's not as close a can't miss. Its 50/50 for EVERY player from first pick to last.

Obviously we can't go totally offense in this draft but I don't think we can afford to have low round o-lineman again like last year. I still feel we trade back go Defense and pick up a couple lineman 2nd and 3rd.

You can't say the reason carr hasn't succeeded is b/c he hasn't had talent around him. J Harrington had nothing but talent and well we all see how he is playing out.

I would hope Carr is a better QB than Harrington in the eyes of our ownership. The players around Joey don't even seem to like him out there. I hope the Bush hype might help bring some free agent value to Houston this year. Maybe we won't have to find everything in the draft.
