I think we should take Adrian Peterson in the draft...

I watched him play a lot with my girlfriend while at Arkansas. He is really big and is really fast. He had the benefit of playing behind a huge line but still this guy is the real deal. I think he could take care of our RB problems for years to come. Who is with me?

I think a lot of people are with you... in your draft choice, your name, and your sig...

On the other hand, there are a lot of people who aren't...

Count me in, though... with you, I mean...

Well, I can see the argument for drafting AD.

A dominant RB is always a good asset to have.

In saying that I am a bit scared off by AD though, with his seemingly constant niggles and an upright running style that won't help protect that (perhaps frail) body.

Another guy that I wouldn't cry about having on the Texans. To be honest I don't think he will reach us at #8.

what else do you and your girlfriend do together?

also yes, you should draft adrian peterson.

He wont be at #8. Stop getting on fired up on what you think we should or should not do if he wont even be there.

yea, get AP, he'll be fast enough to catch Vince Toung twice a year, or keep peyton and co. under wraps. He may even be able to clog up the middle to stop Jacksonville's 2 headed monster......:drunk:

I am not sure if I read that right. You are saying that AP wont help us in our division right? But he will. A good running attack eats up the clock, and keeps opposing offenses of the field(VY, Peyton and Co.). A good running back has the natural ability to defeat the Dline, most of the time(Jax). So actually, taking a runningback is helpful to the Texans.

If he is available, he's a no brainer. Or at least we think.

No, but what he will do is allow us to have drives longer than 3-6 plays. Something that our running backs were not able to do for more than half of the season.

hate to say it but only until he gets injured :ouch:

his upright style & lack of drive blocking tackles to pave lanes & open holes will lead to mutliple injurys in the NFL for Adrian. its not like hes returning for another season in Oklahoma, this is the NFL full of elite defensive playmakers & anyone of them can inflict damage to a tall moving target from any direction @ any time :bowser:

That was a problem with our offense, not just our running game. Against Buffalo, we ran for 188 yards, but we decided to pass on that last 3rd & 2.....

Against Philly & Indy, our coach gave up on the run too early. All those incomplete passes kept our offense on the sideline, not the stuffed runs. Against Washington.... more of the same.

Against Miami, & Dallas, even though we weren't tearing up the field, our dedication to running the ball kept us in those games(well, half of the Dallas game anyway).

I'm not knocking AD..... or saying we shouldn't draft him(heck, I'd love to have him)

I'm just saying it was our commitment to the run that sidelined us last year, more than our inability to run.

& yes, even though you aren't getting anything on those runs, you have to keep pounding it, to stay in the game. Just like Miami, and the 1st half of the Dallas game.

Aside from the Buffalo game, we gave up on the run early because we couldn't run the ball at all. There was at least one game where Carr was our leading rusher with under 50yds.

i'm not saying he wouldnt help us. But the team has other glaring needs then a dime a dozen rb. We have rb's in the stable already. Grtanted if they/he stays healthy, we can have a strong start like we finished. So i'm not saying he wont help, just dont feel we need a rb inthe 1st round....i still beleive that we wont even draft a rb.

oh no not u.........................................well if we had a healthy rb all season, we wouldve had drives longer than 3-6 plays. The last 5 games we a had a healthy rb at 100%. with Ap track's record, it'll look duplicate to worst than what we experinced last season. Rb's are a dime a dozen. We have rb's who already know the system, have worked with Kubes in the past, and are zone-blocking runners. i think to many of u around here got your hopes to high, for Ap, The guy wont even be there at 8. He's top 5 no ????

i would add in that the last 2 games when we rushed well, the defenses were very weak. Indy's rush defense and really overall defense didn't look very good at all during the season and end....it picked up big time in the playoffs though. And Clevelands defense wasn't very good either.

That was the Dallas game. That was one game, where our run game was keeping us on the field, & them off, keeping us in the game, with a 6-3 lead at the half. We started the third, giving up a long drive, and a touchdown. So when we got the ball, we came out throwing & it bit us in the buttocks.

If you look at the stats for that game, the run looks bad, with poor total rushing numbers, and poor YPC. but if you watch the game(& I just watched it again 3 or 4 nights ago) you'll see we had several 4 & 5 yard carries.......

After half time, our first possession was 7 plays long. All passes, it took 2:41 off the clock.

If it weren't for the turnovers in that game, it would have been much closer. That first interception came after throwing on 9 of the last 10 plays.

There is a reason why defenses want to make you one dimensional. & regardless how poorly the run is working, you've got to stick to it, especially if your offense is based on the running game.

Miami... we ran & ran.. didn't get many yards, but we stayed on the field, and won the game.

kinda ironic, seeing how Dayne couldn't go in the last game, hence starting Taylor. Dayne was a game time decision, & that's the only reason Taylor started.

& as a side note, I keep hearing people downplay what Chris Taylor did in that last game. Saying he ran against a weak Cleveland defense. I understand their point, but you also have to consider we only threw the ball 15 times all game. So they knew we were going to run the ball, & they couldn't stop us....... they couldn't stop Chris Taylor.

dayne actually re-injured the ankle he hurt in the Colts game during warm-ups...lol...The injury bug just stayed with him all year truthfully. u know Kyss, i hear everyone down play what CT did. Weak defense, Strong Defense. This is the Nfl. And u make a great point to where we only passsed 15 times, so it was given to them that we were going to be running the entire game. Same with the Super bowl Champs. Everyone tries to downplay what Dayne did the end of the season too. I didnt see anyone else put up 155yrds and 2 td's on the Champs.

I'm pretty sure with a healthy Dayne and With a good off-saeson from CT, we'll be fine with them. rb's are a dime a dozen. Whose gonna block for the stud rb?
