I watched the game closely and the Texans gave me a lot to cheer about.
In this game the Texans improved by leaps and bound.

I could give you a list just like that one for ever single team in the NFL. Even the ones that win. No one is perfect.the wonger need food said:2 passes to their biggest playmaker. 7 sacks. Another sub-200 yard game in passing yards. Numerous mental mistakes by the franchise QB. No pressure on the opposing QB. No forced turnovers.
I'd like to see someone limbo under the bar that has been set for this team.

I wish I had you as a customer. You're the only person who Fedex says Nope, we don't absouletly, positvely need to deliver that package overnight. You would probably call thier customer service line and thank them for getting it to you in a week.![]()
Too funny. My sentiments exactly...Porky said:You're quite easily impressed aren't you? Our running game didn't even get a 100 yards either...
When will capers wake up and realize that we do not have what it takes to do what he wants. Players are "coached" to play his style of ball. If you don't play "his" style, you probably won't make the team. This all falls on 1 thing, the coaches. I am tired of being spoon fed dirt and told that it is steak. You just need to chew it longer.
Last year before the draft, I clearly stated they needed offensive help. I got blasted from top to bottom for it. Until they get a running back and some line help, we will never get there. The problem wasn't Palmer, it is Capers, pure and simple.

When I turned on the TV today and saw that the Texans were hanging in there and only down by 7 at the half I was pretty concerned. A good showing and possibly Caper & Co might survive the season. A couple of "looking better" losses instead of blow outs and Bob McNair might think all Capers and his staff need is another year to get it fixed.
No concern about that now though. After watching them crater in the second half following their one good drive of the day I'm feeling pretty good about where the team is going this year. Capers won't be the coach in 2006 and depending on where the decisions to draft/sign some of these clowns came from Casserly might not make it either.
I'm feeling pretty positive now!

We scored more this game than in the entire rest of the season and we were compleatly in this game, isnt that what everyone complained about? "Its not that we lost, its how we lost.." Well, guess what, we whent down, but we went down fighting. Gaff has emerged as a viable option, has proven reliable hands and gets open. We got away from running in the 3rd quarter and I think that was a mistake...
The one thing that most worries more is the defensvie play-calling. There were multiple times when we only had a 4 man rush, yet there were people free all over the secondary. Also , we had Drob on TJ and Faggins/P-Buc (our nickle corner) on Chad JOhnson... why???? Also, by playing so much zone we take away the only strength our D really has- the secondary. If you don't allow Drob to take away the other teams wide recivers, we will never stop people on 3rd and long. In the end this was a muich better game against a good team (note i have not mentioned the "fumble", i dont even want to go there) and there is pleanty og good to build off of for next week,..![]()
LOL that part is kind of funny (really it is!). In my mind I was imagining a WWF wrestling announcer saying...."oh wait, no he can't be? wait he is! David Carr is going to preform his trademark sack move to end the game."tsip said:IMO, the last drive sums up the Texans and where they are at in year 4. Needing a touch down w/no time outs, our QB throws dump off passes that get us nowhere and eat up what little time we have on the clock and then-
determined not to throw a hail mary pass on the last play for whatever reason-takes his 'trademark' sack...should I even mention the norm is to save time outs for the end of the game? For a coach who lives and breathes for the chance to win the game on the last drive, its amazing the team doesn't have a clue how to do it...
But, you know what, people who think like Justin may be right--if we're going to lose, let's at least look good doing it and-for sure-praise the team for their effort or whatever...better yet, just hang an 'out to lunch' sign....![]()
Cincinnatikid said:Aside from the 7 sacks the offense did much better than the last two games. THey were still not where they should be but they improved. The defense held the bengals to their fewest points all season. Despite the lack of sacks again there was some pressure on Palmer. Peek i think played decent in terms of getting in there, but there are still too few actual blitzes. Also, Dunta was getting owned by TJ so its good he was not covering Chad. The texans improved a lot, but its clear the bengals are very good this season.
