For a long time a lot of us have been saying that the players are taking far too much blame for what is happening on the field and that we have a very big coaching problem. Basically he has confirmed that and the fact that the coaches have by in large lost the respect of this ball club. That is magnified by DROB's statements. I have been saying for a long time the coaches are calling all of the shots and the players have simply been doing what they are told. They have been placed in impossible positions in impossible schemes with the coaches yelling if we only executed implying it was the players fault. Capers may be a nice guy, but may be he isn't as nice as you think. Have you ever really ever heard him take the blame for anything going on on the field?
To contrast this type of thinking I will mention the last two games at Fresno State have not been what we wanted to see at the end of our season. Hill comes out and says I do not want to diminish what my players have done trought the course of the season, but we did not get it done when it counted and as coaches we are going to have to go back and figure out how to fix it and took essentially responsibility for those games. He is a no nonsense man and his players respect him. He is a very honest and tenacious fighter who uses the slogan we will play anyone anywhere any time. He means that and his players know it. They gave SC all they wanted, but we lost a key player in that game and it turned out to be our achellies heel. We have a lot of good players, but we simply don't have the depth of a Notra Dame or SC.
You listen to Parcells when things aren't going well and he usually takes responsibility for his players performances on the field. If you look at the great coaches you will seldom hear them blame their players. They shoulder the responsibility of not having them prepared. After all, they are the generals and the players are the infantry. It really is as simple as that.
I have said for a long time this coaching staff is doing a reprehensible job and is totally demoralilizing this team. This group of players may never recover from the disasters bestood on them by this coaching staff. How the owner can sit and watch the disection of his players in this way is beyond me. Things need to change today, not tomorrow, or some months from now. It is indeed that bad.
