But could you please stop being ignorant and lay off of Pitts?

Hes doing a bang up job at LT. Heck.. his biggest knock has never been his ability, its been his lack of focus out there. Well he seems to be focused now and he is playing well enough to be a starting LT.

just because you are in the habit of casting aspersions at our oline, that isnt a good excuse to keep dogging on Pitts.

Leave him alone, hes playing well and hes one of the most reliable guys on our team. Ill be happy to see him starting at LT for us for the rest of his career..assuming he continues to play at a starter level.

Have to agree whole heartedly! At least the guy is showing some pride in his jumper. Unlike P-Bust and Moron Lostinthewoods, who never seem to be living up to the hype. Pitts deserves a FREAKIN' medal for doing his job as well as he is. Pity the rest of the team (with a few and i do mean FEW exceptions) isn't taking some lead from Chester...

How can you even make that judgement with any certainty? His job has basically been to get in the way of someone for 1 second. If he was still giving up pressure and sacks, then we would really be concerned. Until he can consistently give David 3 seconds per play, and occassionally up to 5 or 6 (what!?!) then I refuse to give hnim any credit. Did you not see the play tonight where Carr took 2 steps (yes only two) and threw immediately to his left (the receiver hadn't even moved), and the RE blocked down the ball! Im sorry but that is not something to be proud about. When he shows me for an entire season that he's capable, I'll believe it. As for now, he is in the same class as TJ (one good year as a senior at FSU). A couple good games maybe, but with extenuating circumstances.

Pitts is doing what is being asked of him well, but he is not being asked to play a complete LT. Until the O-line can even occassionally block 3.0 to 3.5 seconds then evaluating anyone long-term is nearly impossible.

Pitts has played extremely well this season. He shut down Freeney for two games (1 sack in two games against us) and has done a great job of holding off David's blind side the last several games. He belongs at OT and should be our LT until we either draft and develop a better one or sign a better one, then he should move to RT. The line didn't look that bad yesterday, or the previous few games for that matter, we just can't get anyone open running these crappy routes and max-protect schemes.

How would you know good the line is playing? In the last few games, when have you seen Carr take a 5-step drop, plant his feet, and go through his progressions, instead of taking a 2 step drop and throwing to the sideline?

If he takes a 5 step drop, and tries to read the field, he's gonna get KILLED!

Why is that?

Carr is incapable of going through his progressions, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the O-line or time they give him. It has to do with the plain and simple fact that he does not do it. Not even when he has time. There have been plenty of plays where he had time and still didn't read through his progressions. He locks in on his primary and if that isn't do-able, he dumps it to DD. End of progressions for him.

Pitts has played outstanding this year. He is not a true LT, but he does an outstanding job at it anyway. He shut down Freeney in 2 different games to the point they moved Freeney inside to get a pass rush going. He is a very capable LT who can go one on one with any pass rusher in the league and win the majority of the time, IMHO. Anyone who doesn't think so, either is drinking the 'board flavored kool-aid opinions' or simply doesn't watch him playing.

Is he going to win each and every time? No. And neither does Orlando Pace, or any other premier LT in the league. But Pitts wins enough battles to say that he is a very solid LT for the Texans.

Pitts could, and very well may, be our LT of the future. But the team really wants him to play LG. Only problem with that is there is no one better on the team at LT. Which is a coaching/ GM mistake of monumental proportions, IMHO.

I am salivating at the running game prospects and even QB plays available with Pitts at LG and a true domineering LT in the future. That would be a very sweet setup.

But Pitts has played very well, IMHO, and those who knock him need to either do a true evaluation and actually watch HIM playing or bring some 'meat to the table' about how poorly he is playing, IMHO.
