I know another VY vs Reggie Bush Thread...

"Drafting a RB is far from the Texans need, but draft Reggie anyway?"

The potential for either guy is the same, a RISK.

Both have potential to be be great players and both could be injured as rookies.

We don't have an O-line so who would block for Reggie?
We don't have an O-line so who would block fo Vince?

The same risk with the same upside, could be great could be a wash..

I think I'm heading into Bush's corner. I just can't seem to shake the picture in my head of Carr, Davis, Bush, Johnson, a nameless solid second WR, and a good OL on the field under Kubiak's direction... :excited:

And I think we could build a solid OL without trading away the pick. I mean, how often do you get an opportunity to draft a talent like Bush (or Vince)? I've read at least one story about teams that traded away top picks to go down and get OL help, and they ended up regretting it. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Kubiak has experience coaching a strong running game so Bush IS a fit if he happens to become the coach. Which more than likely is the case. But what sort of experience does he have coaching a scrambling QB. Just throwing it out for discussion.

Interesting how the unbiased nationwide poll believes that we should pick Bush 61% to Vince 39%.

Ah...That is the point right there isn't it? If he can turn decent no-name RB's into winners and use a mobile QB like Carr then what's stopping us from taking Bush? We get two very good RB's and they split the playing time. If they take Young he will have a serious learning curve. I guarentee you this is the same resoning that the Texans are using.

why bother with a high profile running back though? if he is sold on Carr as a mobile solution at QB (I dont think he is the answer) and has consistently produced insano running backs with his system, why not trade the pick for more picks? Get some athletic guys on O Line, Pick up a hoss tight end, draft some D, pick up another future star 2nd, 3rd, 4th (hello, Terrell Davis 6th round) round runner as Denver has done over and over again.

There is always the possibility that Reggie Bush ends up the next Barry Sanders....There is the possibility that VY becomes the Jordan of the NFL.....

One way or another, leadership and coaching is everything.....I hope Kubiak lands in Houston.

When Vince Young starts playing defense then he can be the Michael Jordan of the NFL. He would have to win MVPs and defensive player of the year awards.

I have been in favor of trading down since November when it was evident we'd have a very high pick, and I think if Kubiak comes it would be an added reason to examine all the trade down possibilities and see if we can get a good deal.

The poll is 63 to 37, in favor of Bush.

Interesting to see how much different the national audience differes from the local.

Vince Young is good. He will probably one day be better than David Carr. He will probably one day be better in the NFL than Reggie Bush. But he will never be better than the combination of Carr and Bush.

Mr. Vince Young didn't play against Mr. Lienart and/or Mr. Bush. He played the Defense that wasn't as good as Texas's D. Lienert/Bush were only one yard away from beating him. If you are evaluating teams Texas won the game. If you are looking at the breakdown, Bush and Lienert were just as effective against the BETTER defense as Young was against the Weaker one.

even if they would have gotten the 1st down texas still had 3 timeouts
