I Have A Right To Be Pissed

The Dream

All Pro
Yes as fans we have the right to be pissed at the Texans....I'm so sick of certain people on here, claiming that we're whiners, bad fans, etc......Being a fan of your team is like being in a marriage....even if you truely love your spouse, through the thick and thin, the ups and downs....sometimes they cross that line that pisses you off to the extreme and makes you want to divorce their a**.......so no I'm not a bad fan, my team has bad boneheaded idiots making decisions for them.......don't blame the fan blame the team making the bad decisions.

I'm done.

If you're proclaiming to switch your allegiances and mail in the season before training camp even begins, you're a bad fan...period.

If you're upset with the pick, that's cool, it's your right, but calling for another 2-14 season is a bit overboard.

I don't agree with that entirely. I think you make some allowances for things that happen and responses made in the heat of the moment. This comes with the territory. If you have fans who feel passionately about their team they're going to respond passionately when they think their team has made a mistake.

If people are still doing this a month from now then I think you can make an argument for them being bad fans. Good fans care enough to rage over missteps (real or perceived)

When you have the #1 pick you draft the best talent....Mario Williams is NOT the most talented player in this draft.

he is on defense which we really need rite now

He is the best player on DEFENSE by far which after giving up TWO 200 plus yards rushing and over 26 points a game is way more important to solve than having a part-time player.

I would like to see what the Texans saw then. All I saw (and I think most NFL teams saw the same thing) was a workout warrior who had a great combine and 6....count them 6 good games in his college career. The guy is border-line lazy, he take plays off, he disappears for entire games and he had some of his worst games against some of the better teams they played. And now that he has this fat NFL check, I'm sure he's going to motivated to work REAL hard now.....WHATEVER!

I also don't think the Texans thought this through about how much pressure they have just put on this guy. This city has been geared up for months to get one of two of the best athletes the game has seen in a long time. A lot of people are disappointed and they are going to expect huge results from this pick and I don't think he can deliver.

No one gives a damn??? Uhh..helloo? More than half of Houston is pretty pissed off right now. And if we don't win right away this year you can rest assured that Gary Kubiak and Bob McNair will be "giving a damn" as you put it so eloquently.

Yeah, let's see how much of a damn McNair gives when seats are empty and sponsors start pulling out. And I don't wanna hear that "they'll be back when we win" crap. This team will be drafting in the top 10 if not the top 5 next year.

According to Chris Mortenson 12 teams had Mario Williams rated #1 overall. So it's not like the Texans were all alone!! Sure you have a right to be upset, but look at it without emotion and you may not be as mad in the end!!

And anyone who thinks this move is worth giving up your season tickets, let me know, I'll buy your PSL's right now!!!

Exactly, the only thing that I more disgusted than this pick is the people who continually spend their time whining about people who are unhappy with the Texans. Somewhow, they think that a "true fan" does not disagree with what the front office or the coaching staff or players do on the field.

I will give you three reasons why people are pissed off today: Tony Hollings, Jason Babin and Travis Johnson. This pick reminds me so much of these guys. The Texans passed on more proven players solely passed on potential as opposed to actual production on the field. On one hand, they want to discount Bush's and Young's accomplishments over an entire college career. At the same time, they pump up a guy who had a great second half of ONE season. Who cares if he is a work out warrior? I care what he did on the field.

I almost think that some people around here care more about being a great fan than having a great football team. It appears they believe that if you support a losing, poorly run franchise that somehow make you better than someone who supports a winning team. Maybe the Texans would have "better", and certainly more fans, if they put a better team on the field.

Don't hate the game, hate the pla... oops hate the playapicka:stirpot:

I stopped watching the NFL after the Oilers left....when the Texans came, they were never my team just for being here. Y'all bring up the analogy of marriages...When the Oilers left (Heart-ripping divorce) I decided that it was the single life for me (3 to 10 Longhorn games for me! always my first love anyway), so the Texans move in to Houston. They didn't get a marriage from me, they got a date. And they needed to seriously impress on that date, but instead they sucked. Well, with VY, they had the the marriage contract in hand and I had the pen, and.... they never wanted me, so cool, I never got over my last marriage any way (she changed her name but, Titans/Oilers are fine with me...VY brought me back to the NFL). This organization could have added at least 20% of this town as fans they never had with the accquisition of VY, it could have kept all the fans it already had with the pick-up of RB....instead, in five to ten years, this team will be chilling in LA with Lineart as a backup QB. Hilarious.

But McNair will get a little money from me each year. No way I am missing VY put it on y'all.

more than likely wait until 2007 then

and we will wait for Adian Peterson to put it on y'all :heh: (I can dream right?)

Besides the fact that its 2:12 and OU still sucks, AP is a beast. With his style, I don't think he will have a long NFL career, but for three to five years he will have some great highlights.....and yes, I will have to wait til 07 for my VY fix, but I friggin love delayed gratification, so long as it gratifies....and with VY it does, man does it ever.:superman:

Absolutely. I think most of the people who are applauding the pick are blind sheep. They don't look at the facts and they will follow no matter what. If this were the first time I disagreed that would be one thing. However, when you look at the aquisitions of players like Babin, Buchanon, T. Johnson, Joppru, Boselli and Hollings then you add the fact that they have now passed up Derrick Johnson, Vince Young and Reggie Bush and they have released players like Billy Miller, Jamie Sharper and Aaron Glenn, then you see why some of us are so pissed. I'm not JUST pissed about this one pick, it's the entire pattern. Eventually it gets to the point that you just want to give up on them.

you get the 1st overall pick and pass on the riencarnation of Gale Sayers(Reggie Bush)???????????????????WOW..i'm shocked!

Sadly, as a fan of this entity they claim is an NFL franchise, it is not at all surprising.

I new casserly would screw up in the end for us. But what can you do it is there choice not ours. They didnt listen to anyone. I still am angry at bush's agent for being a greedy SOB. I mean 30 mill up front is pretty expensive. Our defense better not screw up or people will be booing that is for sure. Casserly you are an idiot and glad you are leaving. Kubiak I hope you the man that can help change all this mess. BTW didnt we lose the last game just to get reggie bush in the first place?

According to McClain this was Kube's pick. I have a hard time believe that, but that's what he reported.

Let's be honest about Reggie Bush:

He's gonna be a good player yes. But He is not Barry Sanders or Gale Sayers.

He could not carry the load by himself at USC. What makes you think he could do it here?

We have a crappy O-Line. most backs would stink behind, yet Dominick has been effective. He deserves to keep his job. I doubt Bush could do much better with his 15 carries a game.

To me it seems like every year you hear scouts say "This is the best RB to come out in 30 years." Lets face it Runningbacks are easy to find. Look how Denver does it. They have a system where they can pick a name out of a phone book and that guy will run for a 1000 yds.

And at the end of the day. Defense does win championships. There is no way David carr is going to out gun Peyton Manning. Your best bet is to try to stop him.

With the rest of this draft we should do what we should have done a long time ago. build a wall of a line to protect Carr. We will probably be in position next year to pick the next great hype of a runing back if we really need one. so don't worry about Bush. He could be the next Ki Jana Carter just as easy as he could be the next Barry Sanders.

Mario Willaims was a good pick, if ya'll weren't gonna take him then we would have taken him at #2:)

That's exactly what I've been saying. Good luck signing Reggie.

that kinda makes no sense if true.. why would the Texans let Casserly make the pick if he is leaving? they would let Kubiak have a bigger say in things.

Well will get him signed quickly, Tom Benson gave Mickey Loomis and coach Payton his full blessing to pick Reggie and get him signed ASAP. He wants Bush in for training camp on time.

Hey everybody take a deep breath! i was a Bush supporter, and now we have Mario. Ok maybe it was not the "sexy pick". But most everybody was Bit ***** about " NEEDS" . Ok we addressed one. Lets see where the 2nd rd goes. I say CB, or OT. Gotta have faith that our new coaches knoiw what they are doing. Hey I was so pissed last nite I almost came to tears, but DD is not a bad back. Have Faith. We are not going to the playoffs this year, so build , build, build!!!!!!!!!!

Because they are running the show. Maybe just maybe they have a better idea of what this team needs than anybody here! Now I am not happy but have said repeatedly that I back them 100%. So I do.At the end of 2006 I will still be rooting this team on. And remember we still have 5 more picks, who knows maybe we find another Portis in the 5th. You never know. If you don't wanna believe then don't. Thats your right, but I also have the right to believe, nuff said let's see what happens.

What are the Texans going to do with Jason Babin now?

I thought he was their answer as the pass rusher they needed. He was a 4-3 Defensive End out of college and they tried to force him into an OLB. Maybe he will do all right at his natural position????

and why is this???

Because your alternatives are exactly what again?

From where you and I are sitting the only thing we can do now about the first overall pick is hope they were right. that's it. We can be mad (I was yesterday, today I'm too busy to stay mad) and you are now. I get that and it's cool but in the long run you can either hope they know what they're doing or find another team. I can't do that and I'm not getting down any people who don't mind doing that so don't get me wrong. It's just that we're fairly powerless to do anything.

There goes Santonio Holmes. Cool.
