ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! Think about it, double team williams and then he is not a threat. Pull your linebackers up to stop bush and suddenly Carr has millions of more options. This has got to be up the with the Portalnd Trailblazers taking Sam Bowie instead of Jordan. Its that big of a difference.

I'm not going that far, i'm still a fan. But I can't say I blame ya.

Well then you were never a true fan and really didn't need to register just to post this...

:redtowel: GREAT...have a nice life:rolleyes: :yahoo:

what kind of fan abandons their team over a draft pick? if that were the case i would've stopped supporting the dolphins a while ago. if you're not going to stay commited to the texans, then you're not going to stay commited to the next team you become a fan of, so stop pretending you're a real fan of football. accept what you are: a bandwagoner. weak.

In the words of Jim Rome "do you want some cheese with that whine?" If you are going to up ship after one pick, all I have to say is, so long.:ok:

actually im a panthers fan but i live in houston so i cheered for them too, and i stuck by the Panthers even when they were 1-15. so no im not a bandwagoner im just a smart person who knows when to jump off a ship before it sinks. Go ahead, drown with Casserly

Okay, see ya Steeler... umm.. Pat... um... Buc.... Ram.... hmmm... guess you'll decide your fan base come playoffs. Good luck.

Yeah, that's the ticket.....

that's how they won the 2006 rosebowl..... every time Texas pulled up thei....... no, they didn't win that game.

Well, they would have, if Reggie didn't run right into that...... no, REggie wasn't even on the field for the most important play of the game...

Well, if he'd ever just broke free, and ran the ball 80 yards.. and....... no, he did that too...... that was the play he lost the game for USC, with that brilliant Lateral.

Well, it wasn't Bush's fault they lost the game.......

no, I think it was.

If you were a true Texans fan, there would be no sinking ship to abandon. You never were a fan.

If you are a Panther fan, why hate on the Texans? Now is not the time to troll over here, dude. That is even lame on the troll board of ethics.

They did that same thing in regards to Davis last year and Carr had NO options because of the OL. Bush doesn't improve this team's offense over a proven Davis, plus Bush would only be a part-time player. Why burn a #1 overall on a part-time player? It's very possible that the Texans may have took Jordan -- at least when it comes to their situation.

im not knocking williams..but he's nowhere near being a top pick especially in this year's draft.

The Texans don't need a QB, nor do they need a RB. So what kind of player do you think would be #1 for the Texans -- in THIS draft?

You aren't all that smart if you think the Texans should have drafted Bush when they already had Davis.

Well said, Bobo! (wait, did I really just say that? ;))

We have to keep things in perspective. We are getting a playmaker in spite of all the pre-draft hype.

If you are a Texans fan, then you'll see the light and cheer on Mario. If you're a player fan, good luck to ya' and I hope you can find a new jersey to fit.

i am starting to change my opinion about this pick now. I really believe we can become a good team with all these upgrades. I guess we dont really need a RB but im still hoping for one:rolleyes:

To the comment of the trade down that have been made, that would have never worked.

The Saints also are in desperate need of a DE, their line has been one of the worst of the last couple years, and despite the fact that they've tried to spent first round picks on it over the last two years, none had been as good as this guy was coming out.

So basically, if they trade out of the first spot, they don't get Williams. That simple. Sure, the Saints would think Ferguson, but they need defense a lot more then they need OL.

To be honest though, I thought that if they weren't going to take bush, that they would have traded with the Jets, and get 2 first rounders. Then they would have had a chance at either Williams or Ferguson, which I don't think they would have complained about, and then got another pick for an OL/DL as well.

But I can understand the pain though, Bush does look like the closest thing I've seen to a sure thing.

Jordan/Bowie.... your'e 20... When I was that age, I can remember being furious that the Oilers had just passed on Kerry Collins for a guy from Alcorn State.... I always remind myself of that when I try to second guess what others do for a living.

The Kubiak/Denver system doesnt place high value on overpaid running backs and has done ok with that philosophy.... I cant say I wasnt suprised, but it does make some sense when looked at as a whole... Just chill out and get ready for football season.

If you are going to make a statement like that at least have the nerve to use your real log on name.

Yes sir we are getting a playmaker in Mario, but I must admit I am a shocked that bush was not taken as #1. Hopefully the powers that be know what they are doing. If you are a true fan ( which I am ) try going into a bar filled with raider fans wearing your TEXANS gear, YEE HAA!!!

The Texans just Screwed up 3 TIMES. 1) didn't Draft Young, 2) didn't Draft Bush and 3) Didn't DRAFT FERGUSON!!!! what a Bunch of SCREW UPS!!! The one position we really Needed OT and a guy is there on the Board calling out TEXANS DRAFT ME to be your Offensive Left Tackle for the next 12 years and we don't Draft Bush or Ferguson but a DE. SMOOTH MOVE BOB and CHARLIE. Why the H__L did we sign WEAVER????? and over paid him in the process!!! This is one disgusted Season ticket holder.

What sucks is that we're not allowed to use ANY of our other picks on Offensive Linemen - DANG IT!! We HAD to use that first pick on Brick to get OL help!! What'll we do now? :brickwall

I don't care what you 'positive thinkers' have to say. this is such a anti-climatic move. I was all ready to buy a jersey tomorrow, I will not buy a damn thing. Good luck to Kubiak and Willams, but I am not thrilled to watch another losing season without a playmaker to cheer for.

This is nothing but media hype. If these talking heads say the same rigamarole long enough and loud enough, then people start to believe it when in actuality it doesn't really make any sense to draft a back when you already have a good one and have so many other needs elsewhere. Heck, Bush wasn't even as good as Archie Griffin (won two Heismans) and you saw what happened to him. If anyone was a sure thing, it was Griffin.

So Bush scores a TD and you end up losing 35-10.

The Texans needed OL and DL help. Weaver is NOT a pass rusher -- if you would look at his sack stats, you'd realize this. Cowart is not a pass rusher either -- if you would look at HIS stats you would realize this. The Texans are not good pass rushers -- if you would look at their stats, you would realize this. The Texans went through a long drought at the beginning of the year with ZERO turnovers -- including INTs. INTs come when you put pressure on the passer. If you would look at the stats, you would realize this. Just a suggestion: Take a look at the stats. Things become much, much clearer.

Early second round pick on Portis is a high pick, not as high as #1 overall though.

So with this same logic now we lose 21-3 much better.( because Mario stops 2 TDS by himself.) I would have rather watched the first game as a fan.

Increasing the pressure on the QB not only cuts down on the opposing team's point total but also causes turnovers to set your team up for easy scores. Thus, a good pass rusher helps your team both defensively and offensively.

I'm easy enough to get along with. With the #1 pick take the best Defense player or the best player on Offense. We did just that. (Yes AJ Hawk is also pretty darn good)

I just wanted to see what the atmosphere was like in here. And it's about the same. Folks still griping about a decision, and others just like me thinking what's done is done. Let's see what happens.

The news was somewhat of a surprise. Though I think Reggie's problems brought to light earlier in the week had something to do w/ it.

So, we pressure the QB, force an INT, get the ball to the 20, then, 3 sacks later we punt from the 50. You want easy scores? Draft a play maker. You want a play maker? grade FOOTBALL GAMES, not combines. Then the choice is clear.

I agree I'm not a fan anymore also. A DE can't take over a game.
