Hows Pollard doing?

missed tackles and bad pass defense were his knocks in KC

I feel he got villianized because we had absolutely no pass rush. We broke the record for least sacks in a year with only 10. That put Pollard in a position were he needed to be in coverage more than he should have been asked to and when the new regime came in, I think he was used as a scapegoat. JMO

Pollard sucks..........................we'll trade him to y'all for a 1st.

The Texans are allowing a meager 58.2 rushing yards per game since Bernard Pollard took over as the starting strong safety in Week 4.

They had surrendered 205.0 rushing yards per game in the first three weeks of the season. While the front-seven deserves much of the credit for the dramatic turnaround, Pollard has brought a hard-hitting style to the secondary. The Texans can thank the Chiefs (No. 30 in total defense), who decided they no longer needed Pollard just prior to the season.

It is good to see him getting a little recognition (and the front 7 really) for what they have done over the last few weeks. :kingkong: :fans:

oh trust me, I agree, the front 7 has been huge compared to previous years. I think Pollard has done his job too, cause we have had some pretty terrible saftey play over the years. The point was more about getting some recognition for the team than just Pollard.

I am a big fantasy footballer, and I cant tell you how many times I hear people say to play your running backs vs the Texans, because we have allowed the most TDs to opposing RBs. It seems like a lot of people are not seperating out our first few disasterous weeks from the way the D has been shaping up lately. Its good to see the whole post about someone recognizing its not the same D it was in weeks 1-3.

Just came to mind: the play I remember the most was agaisnt the jets I believe, when whoever was playing saftey that play (I think it was Busing (did I spell that right?)) COMPLETELY missed his gap and left this huge hole on the right side for Thomas Jones to escape from.

Im obviously a Chiefs fan, I was a little shocked that Pollard was let go, most likely because he didnt fit what the new coaching staff wanted from their safety.
I heard on a well listened to national radio show that he was cut because he "cared too much"; they claimed he would cause a big scene when the rest of the team wasn't working hard enough.

Pollard was on 790 this afternoon and pretty much said he and Haley didn't get along. I also got the impression that Haley is an A-hole.

Haley like Mangini is an over compensator, in his mind being a dick means he will be respected, common mistake for first timers put in a new position of authority.

That's hilarious... All those people calling Pollard names. I would give a week's pay to see any of them stand in front of him and talk that crap. We're all big and bad sometimes online, when we're sure no one knows who we really are and we're really at. I know Pollard isn'y Troy P, but I think he is ball player who brings some toughness the Texans have been severely lacking.

so, my boy made some big plays today, I heard!

Im truly happy for you guys, and him. He deserves to be in a place he is appreciated and fits a needed role.

Mike Brown is the worst safety in the NFL and I am seriously doubting Pioli/Haleys abilities to rebuild my team to its prior glory, but I still ove them none the less.

Sorry you guys didnt pull it out, it would have been a huge win.

It's only his first loss of the season. Bernard is 3-1 as a Texan. This team
has turned a corner, 'cause they actually HATE losing! Winston was on
his back for a good 5 minutes after Kris Brown missed that field goal.

The old Texans would have been smiling after a loss like this.

If we signed this dude to a real contract I would have a Pollard jersey in the mail ASAP. Seriously.
