How far does that drop Smith's stock

4/14 for 35 yards and an INT in the national championship. That along with all the scouts knocking him for his size, do you guys think he could drop to the eighth pick in the second or do you think he won't make it that far. Maybe it is just wishful thinking
 
even though he had a bad game, i think it was mainly because of the 51(i think)days before he saw real competition...when your in a groove and then you have to wait that long before you get to play another team, its hard to keep that momentum going...i think after that game, he may drop to the late second, if nobody pics him up before that...thats just my thought though...hges still an excellent football player....

When you start the season you have alot more than a 51 day layoff, but that being said, the layoff does hurt. Additionally, the pressure that Florida put on him was tremendous. Teddy leaving after the first posession didn't help. However, IMO he looked worse than Brady against LSU and I would rate Braum ahead of him based on bowl performance.

I rate Brohm ahead of Quinn, Smith, and slightly ahead of Russell if we are talking in terms of talent and who will be the most successful QB in the NFL.

Yes, but your starting a new season that you have been training for all offseason. This is the championship game after that many days? I just dont like it. They need to just change it to a playoff system as soon as they can...this bowl season should prove that.
 
It doesn't change him on my board at all quite honestly. I had him before as a 2nd-3rd round pick and after the game I saw the same thing.

You finally saw his lack of height play a part in when the pocket was collapsing that he could not throw over the rush. It was the first time I saw him totally rattled by the speed of florida. I took that more b/c of them being off for basically two months while florida got to play two more games after OSU's last one.

If he has a great combine he'll be back up if he dropped on anyone else's board which I highly doubt.

I don't get a chance to see any of these guys play except for the occasional bowl game. Does Brohm fit with what Kubiak wants to do? He hasn't declared, yet, has he?
 
No he hasn't declared yet.
Yes he has enough speed to run this offense.
Yes he is a most excellent QB. He has a touch of Montana to him with his acuracy. But he has a stronger arm.

I would have to say it definitely does. He went all season being undefeated and then winning the Heisman Trophy. This made people think he was a pure winner with questionable height being his only real knock. Then he got Beat Down on the big stage in the biggest game of his collegiate career. That performance made him mortal, kinda like the first time the Colts get beat the past few seasons, coaches know how to gameplan against him now. That's gotta hurt his draft stock. If he would've won that game or even just not played like trash he may have kept his 1st round grade but now I say he's a 2nd to 3rd round pick most likely.My:twocents:

Brohm's production, powerful arm and pedigree should give him the chance to be a high first-round choice in either of the next two drafts. He has family members on the coaching staff, which could persuade him to play out his college career. However, his lack of playing time in a pro-set scheme will most certainly lead to comparisons to players like Tim Couch, Chris Redman and Patrick Ramsey – quarterbacks who have failed to make an impact in the NFL after playing in a similar style of college offense. He has the natural arm strength to make any throw required by an NFL team, but he was already not the most fleet of foot quarterback before tearing the ACL in his right knee last season.

but the other teams have the same amount of layoff so it is an even playing field.
