Houston we've a problem!

It's exactly two week until the Draft, and the Texans hasn't started serious contact talks with Reggie Bush. Maybe just maybe, Vince Young is still in our plans?
:stirpot:

I wouldn't worry about it. The Texans haven't picked up any RBs this offseason, and I don't think they are going to have a roster of one RB with experience and another with virtually no experience.

Bush is still coming to the Texans. I anticipate that the negotiations will start this week and contrary to the rampant rumors on this message board, the Texans have not started to negotiate any contract with Mario Williams.

Even if we sign Reggie in the next two weeks, half of the people here still wouldnt believe it. "The signing is a smokescreen for our real pick, <insert name other then Reggie Bush>."

You mean something like "They are just trying to lower Vince Young's contract demands. Signing Reggie will force Vince to give us a hometown discount"

I was wondering, when was Carr signned by when he was drafted? I knew he was signned before the draft, but no how long before the draft.

if you grew up in Houston you know how lame the "we have a problem" play is. plus, how do you know the talks haven't progressed to the serious stage?

BTW-The Texans can't "hasn't" anything.

I think they will see then cost for all three of the guys (Vince Bush and Williams) and make a decision on the cheapest one. Each one, in my opinion, is the top player at their positions, and the top three players ava. I also think that we have gus who are going to start next year in front of any of those three picks next year so why not take the one who has the cheapest price tag.

took a while before san fran and alex smith agreed to a deal, and he was their man at least a full week before the draft.

Situations like those are exactly what the Texans are trying to avoid. They don't want to spend May through July negotiating with someone who's threatening to hold out of training camp. Before the draft, the Texans have more leverage. After the draft, Bush has more leverage.

Where'd you go to school again? If we draft Bush then, according to you, we'll have a roster with "one RB with experience" and 2 others "with virtually no experience."
