On that play, I saw one of the CBs creep up closer to the line but he was picked up by brown quite nicely, I didn't even see the other one and was shocked when I saw the guy tear through the screen into Sage. From where Taylor was positioned (about a yard in front and half a yard to the side of Sage) there was no way he could have picked up that blitz without some ESP(n) telling him its coming.

Taylor admitted that this was his responsibility after the game, but Rosenfels softened the blow by suggesting that it was a difficult pick up because of its nature, and that he was thankful it was a CB and not a linebacker. The link is in this:

The Texans moved the ball down the field well but once they were inside the Red Zone they had one TD and all the rest were all FG's. What's up with that?

The field shrinks as they get closer to the endzone so it does get harder to get in, the defense has less space to cover. Also not having your best player on offense(AJ) on the field has an effect. It would have been nice to punch it in regardless and it is still a concern.
 
Not having a legitimate, starting RB (who is healthy) is why we can't punch it in in the Red Zone. Our passing attack is MUCH greater than our run game right now, and that get's harder to do as the field shrinks. It would help if AJ was in there though.

I'd keep a roster spot for him any day. And I bet Kubiak or some other coach will sit down with him (soon) and help him settle down.

I just think he gets really amped up sometimes, and maybe he does need to know his limits and when to hold 'em/fold 'em. He's not Mathis.

He's been a playmaker at times, yes. However, all to frequently in the time he has been on the field, he has also been a game breaker. I look back to last season in the game we played @ Tennessee. He botches the punt return late in the game and subsequently drops a pass on third down that would have been a first down. What J.J. showed us this past Saturday is that, after a full off-season to work on his faults, he has made no significant improvements. Not to say he doesn't have great upside, but with that said, Anderson is the better WR. If J.J. doesn't pull it together, he's going to be battling Carter for a uniform at the end of it all.

(The good news for J.J. in that regard is that Carter looked rather sub-par as well).
 
JJ's not fighting for anyone's roster spot...

Neither is David Anderson...

Our five WR's are set....

I left that out but having a good running game definitely helps in the red zone.
