That's just insane
I mean that's a :gamer: catch

Looking back I think our offensive game plan in the first half was too conservative. I liked the second half play and effort by Fitzpatrick. I realize interceptions are going to happen but atleast we were moving the ball and scoring points. He's going to throw a few pics but he deserves some credit for his effort in the second half and trying to make things happen. Get the tight ends more involved in the offense. I thought Damaric Johnson had a good game and have changed my mind about him. Good waiver pickup! Blue is everything I was hoping he would be. Brown needs to be gone. Watch how fast Foster gets healthy NOW!

Conservative? They came out running the ball on the opening drive. Blue & Grimes had four carries for 27 yards on the opening drive. They were moving the ball. Fitzpatrick was 1 of 3 for 7 yards and the drive ended with an INT.

Next drive Fitzpatrick starts with an incomplete pass. 2nd down Blue rushed for 4 yards to make it 3rd and 6. 3rd down saw Fitz scramble for 5 yards. 4th down, Punt...

Third drive: First play is a 17 yard pass to Hopkins.. 1st down is a 2 yard run to Blue. 2nd and 3rd down are incomplete passes. Punt.

Fourth drive: 1st & 2nd down are runs with Ronnie Brown where the Texans only pick up 1 yard. On 3rd & 9 they run a WR screen to AJ for -1 yard. Most conservative drive of the first half. Punt.

Fifth drive: PENALTY starts the drive 1st & 15 where Fitz is sacked for -6. On 2nd & 21 Blue rushes for 2 yards. On 3rd & 19 Fitz throws an INT.

The 6th and final drive of the 1st half saw Fitzpatrick go 1 of 4 for 16 yards.

It wasn't conservative play calling, it was crappy QB play.. If we're going to blame play calling at all, I think O'Brien could have been more conservative and tried to get the RB's going more early.

Guess we are about to find out if this coach and staff can handle adversity.

Is Cushing toast or just not all the way back yet?

:coffee:

Can we stop with all the Cushing is done talk?

If they were all 4-10 yards past the line of scrimmage all that means is that he was the most attentive of an overall bad defense.

17 tackles doesn't mean he's not done. It just means he's paying attention.

Yup, how many plays did he make? Anybody can fall on a pile and get credit for a tackle.

Stats don't tell you everything. Rashad Jennings ran the ball 34 times. Of course Cushing was gonna rack up the tackles while allowing 5 yards a carry.

Cush didn't even make any plays.

He's not explosive as he once was due to his injuries.

Or he has o linemen in his face since our DL cant tie people up like they are supposed to.

Im done posting for a while.

eight solo tackles, 2nd highest behind FS Kendrick Lewis

I think that people remember how disruptive Cushing was prior to his injuries.

I'm not saying he is done, I just posed the question.

Fans were used to seeing TFL and QB pressures from Cushing, I don't recall any TFL today.

But I must confess to spending the second half of the game in my shop painting a headboard for the boss.

Lots of plays went our way, and still a few that could have

Pagan needs to play with more awareness. Didn't even know the ball was tipped much less locate the ball. Should have been an INT

Hopkins long one handed grab could have been a game changer, but taken away with more mental mistakes on the line

Right before the half backed up inside our 20 Fitz does not need to be forcing the ball into double coverage

Andre's drop inside the 5 yd line on our second drive of the second half. Could have led to a TD instead of settling for a FG

I've been watching some NCIS reruns all afternoon. I'm in the 3rd season now. I was going to stay away until tomorrow, but I can't. You just can't turn your eyes away from a train wreck.

I've always hated it when they killed off Kate. :(

Yeah but adding Ziva more that made up for it

I have yet to figure it out how Gibbs got away with killing Pedro. Abby got all the goods on him but he still skated.

My favorite show on TV. Hope NCIS New Orleans is as entertaining.

Back to football, can we beat the Bills? I feel this team is still in flux and will improve in increments. Don't know why but I have confidence in this coach to turn things around. I think he will be our Chuck Knox.

I hope the New Orleans version is good as well. The LA version just never quite caught my interest.

As to the Texans, those of us that were day dreaming about a 3-0 start should have known better, but we're fans. I also think OB is eventually going to turn this team into something special.

Cushing looks awful! They ran right at him all day. All day he was swallowed up by traffic- not even a block but by someone else getting blocked. His tackles were piggy-back rides that started after a five yard gain. Consider me very, very concerned about Cushing.

no doubt that cushing's not himself, but he's similarly being misused. swearinger had the strong side all day to cover the tightend (poorly) and cushing was taking on guards more than fullbacks. what's the point of heavies up front if the line is able to attack the second level? watt had to move inside because noone else was worth a damn. cushing had to occupy blockers, and our dime 2/quarters left us vulnerable to runs and slants all day. what's cushing to do other than make the inevitable tackle?

The pattern that we saw in pre-season is continuing
in the regular season.

We are going to struggle against teams with an athletic
defense.

Fortunately, there are very few teams on our schedule
with a front 7 like AZ, SF, NY..

The good news is that WAS is a team like that, and we
came away with a win in week 1.

I honestly think it is that simple. And Rick & BoB need
to continually look for and develop talent that can
help on the o-line

Our defense is stout enough to keep us in a lot of games
against this schedule. But we can't have back to back
to back 3-n-outs or JJ and crew will be too gassed to be
effective..

My fantasy football team is named PicksPatrick. None of the guys in my league knew what I was talking about. After yesterday, they all said, "Oh... now I get it."

I was wanting a QB change at halftime . I couldnt understand why they didn't give mallet some reps ..now that I was slept on it. I wonder if OB just wanted to see if fitz could handle trying to engineer comeback? We know fitz is fitz but maybe ob wanted to see how fitz could operate under his offense..idk

If you look at his stats, it was as if we got a QB change at halftime. He had a .6 QBR before the half & 102 after (more than likely that was passer rating, not QBR).

So if we figure out how to keep him in that 100 range all game, then we'll be ok.

Get the lead early, play good defense, and control the clock with the running game. That's the only way, unfortunately.

Brain fart.

Brain thought Chuck Noll and fingers typed Chuck Knox.
