I won't bring in the coroner to pronounce us dead just yet. The O'Brien supporters claim he's brought new life into this team. Let's see if he can get them to rebound after this loss.

The Bills come to town next week. They are also losing, at home by the way, and will be 2-1 next week. Let's see if O'Brien lights a fire under their a$$es this week and they come out strong next Sunday.

And that's a shame too. I really sold him short prior to this season. I wasn't enamored with his rookie year but he's hit an entirely new level since 2014 started.
 
Hopefully O'Brien is keeping Fitzpatrick in the game because he doesn't want to risk Mallett getting injured. :kitten:

He has indeed brought new life to the team but that life will be short lived if he has another week like this. If Shitz is his end-game then we're in big trouble in 2014.

If the Texans had Foster this game it could be a different story.

Yeah Fitz isn't lighting up the scoreboard, but for a team that's based on running the football and playing defense he's not a bad choice.

As for the coach, people always talked about how conservative Kubes was. BOB has shown today that he makes calls to win the game. BOB is not coaching to stay in games, he's coaching to win them. Sometimes it will blow up in his face with this QB though. He's no Andrew Luck.
 
Hoping that the Texans shake off this loss in NY and come home and prepare well for Buffalo. Good teams will bounce back from losses like this. Here's to hoping that the Texans do exactly that!
 
I reckon Fitzy will be get the nod as the starter next week unless OB is feeling some type of way.

If he shits the bed early against the Bills I think Mallett will make his way into the game.

Fitz didn't have a great game, but he was far from our biggest problem today. Work on that oline and get Foster back healthy, we can win games with Fitz if we keep a complete team around him.

We can only hope that Cushing gets better as the season goes on, and Clowney can be an impact player when he returns. Reed and Mercilus provide nothing to this defense.
 
Ewww no need for the doom and gloomers to come out yet, we fought hard, had Fitz not thrown 3 ints we might of had a chance. The ball just didnt bounce our way this game and yet we still only lost by 13.

It will be ok !

I don't think it would matter. Foster is great but he's not going to create openings to run through. This week is the line being beaten (after about midway through the first quarter) and Shitz having to carry the team. Normally if the other team stops the run you can take to the air (assuming you're capable of it) and stretch things out.

Not going to happen in the next few weeks. We're going to see teams stacking the line, stopping Foster (or Blue/Grimes/Brown) at any cost and hoping to get a "Pickspatrick" day for their troubles.

We just saw the game that the rest of the schedule will use to put a stop to the Texans. Now begins the 3-5 week "wasted time" where we watch OB stick with Shitz in some kind of vain hope that this turd can get it together.

I look forward to OB rolling Mallet out there once the season is lost completely and most of the team is mailing in the effort. Worked so well for Keenum last year right?

Fitz could have had about 5 or 6 picks today. He struggled to move the offense most of the day until giants softened up. I won't debate biggest problem and such. There were a bunch. But you will struggle to beat even bad teams with this kind if qb play.
 
Unless it has already been stated and I missed the thread, DeAndre Hopkins is officially the #1 receiver in Houston.

Right now it's hard to say, we're still "trying" different things, I doubt anyone has their responsibilities locked down, doubt there's any chemistry between anyone on the front 7.

I'm still seeing quite a bit from Pagan, Crick, & Powe, that looks like we should be able to put something together.

I'm starting to question this Brian Cushing snap count thingy. Looks more like they're trying to get it done without him. Like they don't plan on Cush being a Texans beyond this season.

The defense is putrid, they can't stop anyone against the run and those slants have been killing us for 3 weeks now.

The offense rolls through Foster and I said it last week. Fitz has to throw to keep teams honest and to win us games. He cannot and never will be able to do this. There is no reason to keep rolling with him because we will never win a Super Bowl with him at QB.

We have no idea if Mallett or Savage are good enough to win, but we need to spend this season determing the answer to that question so we don't have to waste next season doing it. Put in Mallett and see how he responds. If he sucks come the bye week play Tom and see how he plays the year out. If they both suck then throw the kitchen sink at the draft and grab a qb high. Thats how we right this ship and give ourselves a chance in the future.

I was thinking that too. Wondering if Cush is just having an unannounced "Farewell Season" where he gets to play some but isn't depended on, ever. It's like if Charles Barkley had played another year with the Rockets or something. Yeah, he's not really the same player he once was but we thought we'd give him the farewell tour thing since we got nothing else going on this year"

Starting to wonder if he could play an entire game even if they wanted him to.

There is no cap savings for cutting Cushing before 2016. Until then, it costs more to cut him than to keep him.

No pass rush against the Raiders, no pass rush today. Our D-line is horrible, except Watt. Powe is a joke, and they released Ricardo Mathews, why?

Teams are figuring it out. Just double team Watt; if you can contain him, NOONE else on this defense will hurt you.

He reminds me a lot of Larry Fitzgerald. He may not appear open, but you have to just throw it to him, he'll be the one to catch it.

I noticed he was caught in coverage a few times. Like most of the team, he didn't show much.

Five tackles, three solo. No passes defensed, no sacks, no TFL.
Like Lucky said, pretty much on par with everyone not named Watt.

Looking back I think our offensive game plan in the first half was too conservative. I liked the second half play and effort by Fitzpatrick. I realize interceptions are going to happen but atleast we were moving the ball and scoring points. He's going to throw a few pics but he deserves some credit for his effort in the second half and trying to make things happen. Get the tight ends more involved in the offense. I thought Damaric Johnson had a good game and have changed my mind about him. Good waiver pickup! Blue is everything I was hoping he would be. Brown needs to be gone. Watch how fast Foster gets healthy NOW!

Hopefully when clowney comes back things will go more positive I hope they will
