Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars. 10/18. 12:00 PM. CBS **Official Game Thread**

But you still never know what may transpire on draft day. Would be the Texans luck that they would be in position to draft a decent QB but then mysteriously another team decides to trade up in front of the Texans to snatch said QB, OR the Texans do what they probably should have done in 2014: trade back for more picks.
There is little doubt that the intention was to trade back IF a fair offer was made. But that offer never came and we went with Clowney.

It remains to be seen how it will work out eventually, but the normal risk of injury seems to have limited his potential as it could have any player. The big question seemed to be work ethic and that doesn't seem to be his problem. Long term health was a lesser issue with most who even had doubts.

That doesn't seem to be the prevailing opinion around here.
As the QBs are fading from TOP spot consideration and more are establishing themselves as lower 1st round selections, I suspect winning a few games will not be harmful to the probability we pick a first round QB. In fact, getting those non QB can't miss players off the board might be a good thing.

This is a different draft. QB seems to be deep with none standing out above the rest as a consensus first selection. I think we come away with a Good QB in this draft. Of course if a top fast FS falls to us I may change my mind.

I'd rather us lose every remaining game to ensure the firing of the frauds we gave as GM and head coach.

Well, that's fine. But the owner won't be replaced, and he's the one that's ultimately in charge of hiring, so what makes you think we'd be doing any better with the next set of dodos?

Where is this coming from?

A poor source to be sure, but the draft pick games like first pick and fanspeak are pointing toward Bosa, Tunsil, Ramsey, Hargreaves, Fuller, Nkemdiche, Boyd and possibly a few others like Myles Jack as better prospects than the Qb crop. Then QBs Goff, Cook, Jones close together in the middle to late first with many exciting prospects like Wentz, Kiel, Dobbs, Kessler, Prescott, Sudfeld, Hackenberg and a few others in a QB lottery who MIGHT or MIGHT NOT become quality QBs with the right opportunities.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but the recent drafts seemed to have a very few with potential at the top followed by camp fodder. But I'm not a good source for evaluation of of the QB crop. I'll be waiting to see what kinds of opinions the evaluators come up with.

Yesterday was just too nice to stay cooped up. Couldnt get the exact feel from the highlight reel, and forgot to DVR it. I'll try and catch a reply on The Network, but the game looked good. Refreshing to see some life out of the offense, and the defense finally got some turnovers. Can Hoyer stabalize the QB position enough for a run? Colts have a nasty schedule coming up. AFC South is a joke. Shades of the 93 Oilers? Sigh, I can only wish.

A team that drafts early and needs a QB will draft a QB early. This is tried and true.

So... can we deduce from that logic, we didn't need a QB in 2014?
We can deduce that none wanted a QB so bad they would mortgage their draft or give valuable future picks in 2014. They were content to sit on their hands rather than trade up to the first pick.
