Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars. 10/18. 12:00 PM. CBS **Official Game Thread**

Jags kicker just killed a bird on that XP hahaha that was the worst looking kick I've seen all year.

Just asking?

Dont mind the field goal ruse but...

Punt by novak or punt by a hall of fame punter? Hmmm.

So, would anybody mind if I jinxed the game?

Wow. it's great. We won! jaggies suck! We're so good! This one is in the bag fellows, light 'em if ya got 'em.

The enthusiasm here after a win is staggering lol. I mean sure, it was the Jags, and how bad do you have to suck to throw interceptions to Hal and Bouye, but we won!

The Texans are just good enough to win a few games and miss out on the top premium draft choices. But that's OK, because we have our QB now. LOL

I'm back to seeing is believing with the Texans. I have no more expectations of them for this season. Surprises are nice, but they aren't in our future this year, and quite possibly for the next few years. We're back to the suck for a while.

After this evening, the Texans will be one game out of first place. Don't worry Houstonians, there will be more speed bumps/losses along the way to ***** about with authority

What this win for the Texans means: the Texans won't be picking 1st in the draft. That's about the significance of it.

As long as the teams that finish with more suck than us aren't looking QB then that's all good. Right now we're looking down at Balt., Tenn., Jax, KC, and Det. Only the last two may even be considering a new signal caller, and I'm not sure contract wise they even really can. So we're ok as of yet.

This win means nothing in the grand scheme of things. This team would have lost to any other team the way it played today.

Hard to say if OB would even pick a qb. He might go with Hoyer and Savage next year.

But you still never know what may transpire on draft day. Would be the Texans luck that they would be in position to draft a decent QB but then mysteriously another team decides to trade up in front of the Texans to snatch said QB, OR the Texans do what they probably should have done in 2014: trade back for more picks.

Ok, you're right. And I also don't know if a helicopter may land on my head tomorrow and that's that. As far as where we are now though is all I was addressing. I thought that's what you were getting at as well, what this win meant for the standings/draft landscape.

yI haven't watched the game (listened to it on the radio), but it only sounded as bad as on here on the D side of the ball.
I've gotta be honest...I'll take todays offensive performance every single game. That would make me happier than a sissy with a peter in his mouth. The defense is whole other story. I'm at a complete loss to explain anything about the defensive performance. It's bad in concept, play calling and execution. WTF???

On that questionable TD throw by Hoer, al I will say is that if a top 10 QB made that throw, he'd be heralded. Hoyer makes that throw, he's lucky. Perception, folks. I've seen the replay and that throw had some pepper on it. I think it was a good play rather tha a lucky pla.

I'm just now watching it. Blake Bortles don't look bad & there's still a lot of shuffling going on in the secondary. Hal is playing a lot. KJax got hurt, Joseph is going to miss a few snaps later... & it looks like our LBs were told to get back & play coverages.

Offensively... more shuffling on the OL. It's Brown, Brooks, Jones, with Clark & Lamm sharing RT. I've got 6:40 left in the first half. Not impressed.

Why doesn't every single opponent throw inside slants against the Texans on every single play? It's there every single time. Oh yeah....the Texans can't stop the run either. Too easy to mix and match against this "stellar defense".

I was switching between the Texans and the preseason Rockets game replay because I missed that last night.

Happy for the win though, even if it was against Jacksonville. And the Colts are about to lose.

I had to take my grandkids to the Renaissance Festival so my day was a lot more pleasant than usual. My "Texans Gameday Experience (C)" was great for a change. Figures though that I miss a win and forgot to record it.

A win is always better than a loss though. Always.

only 15 pages in a gameday thread shows just how many folks have lost interest in the Texans.
Wow!

Happens when a team just isn't good and haven't shown they are remotely trying to compete like the Rockets nor Astros. I would kill to have a GM like Morey and Lunow for the Texans.
