Houston Texans fans... WOW!

Send those t sips down for some good old fashion front row training if you want, just be careful or the yellow shirt might throw you out, the Bull Pen came for a game and the team did not.

How about these uniforms .

I get annoyed with people who are upset that fans don't buy enough colors of jerseys. Just because the team went with some crazy rainbow of uniforms where they flip a coin to figure their colors for the day doesn't mean that the average fan can afford to.

Want all the fans to be consistent and wear the same colors? Have the team be consistent and wear the same colors. The reason fans in other towns can remember what color to wear is their team always wears the same colors. Imagine if the Steelers went with black, white, and just for fun fuschia. And you aren't a real fan unless you eschew the black and gold for the pink.

Come on now..... you mean to tell me that everybody does not a white $2.99 Fruit of the Loom T-shirt?????? I am not saying wear a WHITE JERSEY OR BUY ONE! I am saying wear WHITE, even if it has something other than Texans, just be white! Geez, relax man.

4) On the last Jets TD that was run into the right side of the North end zone it looked like the Texans fans were really giving the Jets the business, with lots of #1 salutes.

Oh man, I saw that on the replay. Somebody was leaning over the wall and giving the double rods to Jones.

Now this I can't believe. I just heard on the news that as part of the Texans "Go Green" and save the planet campaign. The Texans will wear green jerseys against the Patriots.

Unbelievable!!!

Time to save up for the green jerseys now.

Please tell me you're kidding.:gun:

I moved from section 114 to 137... and the fans in 137 are boring!!!!.. Some fans were loud but most just sat on their hands like they were waitng for something to happen. A family of four sat in front of me and they only got loud when the Texans made a play which was not often. They were just "there". And their 12 year old son played a video game the whole time, he didn't even look at the field once!, not once!. If my twelve year old son is going to play video games at the game, I'll either smack him on the head and take the video game away or leave him at home. Why even take him? I was yelling all kinds of stuff, no cussing of course, but they were looking at me like I was a freak.. Last year in section 114, I was considered the quiet one.

Funny Greg!! They do that and you might see a lot of fans in their birthday suits. I DO hope you are kidding!!!

I agree having all of these different combinations is f'ing lame. I would love to the Texans to have just one and one away uniform. You know they are going to wear some form of white when at home for the heat advantage so one year they could rock all red and another all blue or just keep it simple and not 15 different things with 3 colors.

In true form with the Texans marketing department, they can't just call it green. The Texans will be wearing "Energy Green" jerseys for the January 3rd game against the Patriots.

What does that mean exactly...a color of green jersey, or a jersey that's "green" made out of hemp or recycled materials?

Make it easy and just wear a special patch for that day...

Speaking of fans, who got their ass kicked (or what happened) about halfway up 116/117?

Texan_Bill, me and my cousin were in the Bullpen for the 1st time in my life (only 3rd Texans game for me). I was right there where the melee was.

It was some rich, fat dude dressed in a black shirt and his crazy Jets wife who were just in the wrong place/wrong time. I think the chick started everything. She was walking up the steps and got into it with a few Texans fans behind me, talking trash. Next thing you know, she throws beer onto the guys and it became a crazy, pushing/trash talking drunk fest. Her husband/boyfriend came up and tried to defend her, but at that time it was just talking. They were eventually escorted out. Then after 30 minutes, they came back down, but never got to their seats. The chick walked down, but never got to her seat because she started to hear the trash talking from the fans she threw beer on. The guy came in and tried to defend her. He started talking trash to those fans and one of those dudes wailed on him and he got knocked into Section 116. Eventually the police got involved and both of them were thrown out along with one of the Texans fans.

While our Texans sucked on the field, the view, physicality and passion was up the stands. Best action I saw all afternoon. Well worth our tickets.

I had heard the part about the Texan fan wearing the beer, but I couldn't see anything looking straight up the aisle. Thanks for the info. While I don't condone or advocate fighting, it's good to see that we at least won one battle Sunday. :gun:

Why? What difference does it make? Why do you care so much? The players don't play better, and the game is the entire point at the end of the day.

Are you one of those fans more concerned with photo ops and how Houston looks on tv?

I'm not calling you out, man, but I just don't get the mentality of caring one bit what another dude is wearing.

And don't give me "spirit" BS, because that's just some made up concept that fans argue about. Winning breeds a winning spirit. Color coordination has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Now this I can't believe. I just heard on the news that as part of the Texans "Go Green" and save the planet campaign. The Texans will wear green jerseys against the Patriots.

How exciting! Maybe they'll wear their red pants and it'll be a Christmas atmosphere! :fans:

oh, and I just realized, TB, that you posted the home and away jerseys for the Patriots.

We have six different combos for 8 home games! All blue, all white, all red, blue top/white bottom, white top/blue bottom, red top/white bottom.
Six different combos, but still only three top colors. Still less than the Astros. :):

That was part of the point I was making. Asking for a WHITE shirt (not jersey, texans, etc.) isn't that hard to do, nor that hard to figure out. I look at my ticket for my "color" cue, not just the Texans website, radio, etc.

Now THAT is wayyyy over the top. (though if they play the way they did Sunday, puke Green might be appropriate)

If you're a fan who is more interested in getting more nationally televised games, then "appearance" can make a difference. Since we haven't had a winning record yet - every micro point we can get w/ network execs makes a difference. I made the original point, not about wearing Red on BR day (geez, they even GIVE you the shirt on those days), but about a plain WHITE one. Heck, I don't own a BLUE jersey myself. (and I'm a fairly 'ardent' fan)

For the record - I've even "given" white Texans shirts to fans who didn't have one and wanted to fit in. I also thought the stadium looked pretty full and pretty dang white on Sunday. MY gripe was simply with those claiming that asking fans to wear WHITE was some sort of 'undue burden'. I make no other claims as to whether it pumps up the home team, etc.

It's all good, disaacks3. We shall have to agree to disagree on this one, though, because I just don't see the big deal of Texans fans wearing any of the Texans colors at home games.

Myself, I find it whack to wear a cheap t-shirt with HALLIBURTON advertised on it instead of the rather pricey, custom Texans jersey that I had made for wearing a mere 10 days out of the year.

To each his own, of course, and I do not fault anyone for doing it. Just provide me the same respect in return is all I ask. :)

I happen to own a red jersey, a white jersey, and a blue jersey. The only time I wear a jersey is on football Sundays. So if I only had one jersey, and I spent my hard earned money on it, and I'm going to a football game, you can be damn sure I'd wear it and not care what color it is. I would not wear a plain white T-shirt instead of my battle red jersey (if that's what I had).

I have seats in the Bullpen but had my first chance to sit in the club level (section 334). Why do people pay to sit on a couch to watch the game on TV and pay for high priced concessions? I bet 60% of my section were in their seats at any given time. Early in the first we had a third and 5, I stood and was making noise, the few people that were in their seats looked at me like I was crazy! Give me HEAT, give me SUN, but please give me the BULLPEN FANS! No pot shots against other sections or levels, but the club level was LOADED with "T-sips".... no pun intended Longhorn fans. LOWER the ticket prices and get fans into the damn seats! Make it affordable for the average fan that WANTS to be there!

Are the people in Houston STUPID? Why did I see red jerseys, blue jerseys, and just whatever on WHITE OUT DAY? How freaking hard is it to wear something white? The Texans did not do their part today, but the Texans fans did not either!!!!!!!!

Bob, I have been with you since day 1. You expect a return on your investment, SO DO THE TEXANS FANS! I have taken your ticket prices skyrocketing since 2002 and my paking pass has almost doubled in price. I keep thinking ONE day we are going to turn the corner. You sold us on a first class organization in 2002 and I believed you. The confidence is starting to wander. You have a coach and QB that is still unproven (BILL COWHER where are you?). Now you have a cornerback that is making close to $10,000,000 for playing 16 games and he has the balls to write, PAY ME RICK" on his shoes??????? Its just getting sad that the middle class people that sacrifice to be in the seats for you is having to endure this time and time again. You have to get this stuff fixed and soon!

Texan fans..... get in your seats and BE THE HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE! We can ***** and moan all we want, but from 12-3PM get there early, be loud, and stay late! Lets make this a bump in the road..... not a TRAIN WRECK!

Sorry...... had to vent! :headhurts:
It is amazing to me that some people think to be a fan you have to go to a game, scream obscenities
at the opponent, block the view, actually believe that that behavior effects the game and then belittles others for not sharing that belief & behavior.

I am ok with cheering a play or even booing one, jumping to your feet to watch a play end and yelling your valuable thoughts to the players and coaches. It is so cool to watch Demeco turn and wave thanks for your input to something he could have never figured out by himself. Personally, the behavior you encourage is a major reason I do not go to games. Fans wanting to "lose" themselves in the noise of the "college" atmosphere are as puzzling to me as I am sure mine would be to you. Again, if a play inspires you to loudly voice your opinion one way or another, do so, then set down and tone it down for those fans who can enjoy the experience without being the "look at me! See I am a good fan becuase I am loud. Hear me roar!"

As far as the costume you choose to wear, let others do what they want. A pretty girl at the rodeo will get my attention whether she is wearing a Western outfit or her usual attire. If you want to act or dress a certain way, cool, but chill on forcing your concepts on others.

I really don't have a problem with designated colors. I have a jersey for each of the colors, jerseys that have lasted much longer than the players names on the back. However, I am also pretty flexible, and have no problem wearing a white, or fill in the color, t-shirt, shirt, or blouse if the goal is being consistent. I'm not locked into wearing jerseys only. Before the organization changed the roof policy, I was more likely to wear a short sleeved top because those jerseys don't breathe like cotton.

I think a lot of people choosing the club and suites are business people who pay the bulk of the PSL costs to either entertain customers or employees, conduct business, and enjoy a tax write off for the expense. I really don't care what they do up there, but do thank them kindly for their contribution to paying for the operation and cost of the stadium. It takes more than us die-hard fans paying $65-$75 per ticket and a $600 PSL to finance the franchise.

As a Cowboys fan, I am almost positive that the folks that forked up the cost of a 4000 sq. ft. home for a PSL probably aren't of the same mindset of me and my buddies. But, I sure appreciate their contribution to our new home.

Nevermind, you don't get it...... we can agree to continue to disagree. :gun:

Oh, I get it. It's manufactured tradition. Feel free to participate. Just quit bishing about other fans when they choose not to.

Unlike you, I don't care what other dudes wear. I'm there to see a football game, not fans. :howdy:

As long as we're coming up with traditions . How about a dollar beer for every touchdown ?

lol! Now remember, to qualify, a manufactured tradition must make the team some profit, not cost them some of it! ;)

Oh ... we pay for traditions ... Hallmark will be all over this one .

Happy Battle Red Day , here's a costume .

ps . I don't want to be a Debbie Downer and I do like to see Texans Chick's creations . I just don't believe that after dropping a pretty good chunk of change on tickets you should have to worry about clothes .

Some people think they are just too cool to wear what they are asked to wear. (not thinking it would just be fun) Plus, some others say they won't be forced to buy a white jersey. (without thinking they could just buy a white texans T.)

But, after 7 plus years of a below average product, I think Houston fans overall should be commended on just showing up, let alone selling out every game.
