These are the kind of unfortunate penalties that we struggle overcoming. Texans need to get a stop here.... or they're the same soft Texans that Kubiak gave us.

As @thethrillofwill notes, Mallett's long completion to Hopkins was properly thrown with good flight. Needed the loft to drop it b/w 2 DBs

Hoyer's already thrown the ball downfield in this one game more often than Fitz has all year. People want to talk about Fitz not having time, but he did that to himself, playing small ball.

Mike Pettine is supposed to be a "blitz happy" head coach & we're starting a young, first time starting QB.... yet he's backed off the blitz so far because he's been beat too many times already.

Another thing. When Hoyer gets out of the pocket, he's looking downfield to make a play. Fitzpatrick plays like Tebow when he gets out of the pocket.

Remember when we were down by two scores, no time outs, 3 minutes in the game he got out of the pocket, & ran for 10 yards... on 1st down. That's just no awareness whatsoever.
