Houston Texans 2025 Training Camp

My understanding he is good to go as is Trent Brown. I expect both to be eased into play. For how long, who knows.

Trent Brown is on the PUP list. No surprise there. Foley F, and Barnett are the biggest surprises to me, with Pierce being a mild surprise.

Hopefully, none of those 3 are major concerns.

Let's see if Christian Harris can make it through a day. Make sure the showers are well lit with grab bars and those sticky decals on the floor.

For the record, I don't believe our OL is going to be in the top 1/3rd of the NFL. However, we just need them to be around the middle of the pack, which I believe is achievable with the mediocre talent of most of the linemen as long as they are well coached. A great deal of whether the Texans OL have success is on the coaching. We're asking a lot of them but this is why they get paid the big bucks.

Great take, in full agreement. To add on I think an emphasis on the quick game can make the Oline look better and keep the offense moving and keep CJ upright

Wilson knows exactly nothing about injuries. In this podcast, he is essentially presenting what and how the Texans are are feeding him. I actually find this video more of a PR piece,, as it leaves out realistic analytical implications for individual outlooks for the players. I'll leave it at that, as we will all be able to watch as the season develops.
Ive been saying for YEARS that Aaron Wilson SUCKS. Hes a regurgitating lazy "reporter" that does no investigative work and just restates what his tiny lame bubble say.

I just can't get excited about Tomlinson @LG. I can see Brown at guard with Howard at the other. Ingram back up only?
I get this, one things for sure, with Tomlinson at LG the Texans will be much smarter at that position.

I'm thinking Brown will be the starting RT.

Stinglely could've been Travis Hunter easily if his school didn't already have NFL WRs and a pompous coach.. he's got better ball skills on both sides of the ball. Can't wait for the the teacher to take the pupil to school. Like the sun rises, the Jags will mishandle another top 3 pick.

They should be giving him primarily cb snaps, but they aren't.. can't wait to see Sting steal his lunch, he can be a okay WR.. He can be a exceptional CB and they are already wasting reps. Love it. Because Jaguars 😂

Hey man, i loved coach O, he was smart enough to know what he didn't know, he hired Brady/Aranda to run the offense and stuck to recruiting and the OL. The LSU program is worse off not having coach O as their HC. I'll bet you that if coach O was still coach at LSU that Arch would be a Tiger today. Of course I'm not a Kelly fan so there's that.

I already like seeing that multiple players are "starting" at various positions on the OL. Let them compete and choose the best 5 (at their positions). On the other hand, this week is really about mental reps until the pads come on. Olinemen have a hard time against the DL until they can really punch them, and secure their hands in a quote-unquote legal hold.
Ok, but once regular season begins, set them and leave them.

I'm opposite, as I believe Hunter will be a better WR than CB. A Hunter/Thomas tandem might even make Trevor look good.

Hunter can be great at either, but I'd play him at corner. Why? It's harder to find a lock down corner with great ball skills then it is to find a really good WR. Both are valuable, but you have B Thomas at WR. Let him be the dude, and play Hunter "mostly" at CB and let him grow there. Then add a couple of packages where he does play some WR but limit the offensive snaps to 10-15ish/game on high leverage downs. I would not be playing the guy for 100+ snaps a game. That's way too much.

Best five at their positions or best group play no matter the players comprising that group?

That was me rebelling against the "start the best 5" saying. (ie. having your 3rd best tackle start at center.) But to your point, start the best starting group no matter who or where those players come from. If Fisher outplays Kendrick Patterson at center than he should be put in that spot. If Ersery is a better guard than who you've got lined up then make the change.

Who is Kendrick? It's getting to the point where I can't keep track of everyone without a score card!

I don't mind a little shuffling early on, but I'd really like them to settle on the five starters ASAP. Preferably next week or very latest week of that first PS game. It looks like they will have four new starters/new positions, and possibly even five. Damn near unprecedented. They need as many reps as possible together ASAP to start building chemistry and continuity.

It's going to be rough sledding for a few weeks. Hopefully by Oct. we start to see some semblance of a line that's getting better and seems to be acting in unison.

That was my bad, I got Kendrick Green (now a Bills player) and Jarret Patterson mixed up. Fixed it above.

Well I agree with reservations. I have read this past year how our OL problems centered on a lack of communication. Best five doesn’t necessarily speak to communication…just look at Tunsil. But “communication” is a skill set as much as any other physical skill. I don’t know how to measure it but if one group “works” then change the damn paradigm.
