Yeah, the Coogs are having there way with the Purple Pirate defense. If it wasn't for a pick in the red zone and a missed FG this game is 31-10 at the half.

They won't play us its pretty simple. Their basketball coach said they would play us only at their place no home and home. Maggard won't do a deal like that and I dont blame him.

** before you longhorn fans blow your tops, i'm not claiming that U of H would beat them on a regular basis...if very much at all **
But c'mon, Looking at their non-conference schedule every year, it seems pretty obvious to me. U of H isn't exactly a perennial power but we're not pushovers either & he knows that the Texas/UH old SWC matchups were far more intense & thereby riskier than the Rice one ever was; Mack would just rather not risk getting an early loss by playing us every year...can't really say i blame him in light of his conference opponents.
I'm sure he justifies playing Rice every year b/c they were one of the SWC charter members, but most know what his main objective is when he schedules 3 cupcakes & 1 decent team every year for non conference.
He'd rather see Rice than us or a TCU every year b/c he knows that it's a safer play & he still gets his houston market as far as recruits go by making that annual trip here.
This goes for Texas A&M too, there is no way we shouldn't be playing each other once a year.

They will not play UofH because of recruiting reasons and money; it is just that simple. TU, A&M and TT did not want UofH in the big 12 because it would hurt recruiting because the Coogs were not that far removed from the Andre Ware and David Klingler era when they had good teams and records. Also, there was a lot of hard feelings among a lot of the old SWC guys when Jenkins was coach and he tried to put 100 points up on teams.
Now the money part of it? If TU played at UofH it would generate more money for the Coogs and they could not have that.
