Has the schedule changed your picks for the draft?

No we play some pretty good RBs. I like Mathews at the will. Worst case....Adbi becomes the Will backer on third down....Mathews gets turned loose to free lance and ball hawk... or be the fifth man...Blitz. With this class of DBs makes sense to me. What will be funny if he gets plucked off the board right befor us. We end up with Cushing who will be a pretty fair pro. And Mathews goes on to realize the potentail to be an elite player. Same thing which happened twenty years ago with the Oilers with Bruce Smith and Ray Childress.

If we were to draft Matthews and Sidbury that would allow Bush to play the pressure defense that he says he wants to play.

Do you think Smith-Gibbs can find a C and competent RB in rds 3-4 or do you draft the RB in rd. 2 & hope a speed rusher falls to rd.4?

I believe we have to many major holes to fill without trading down but that probably means missing out on Matthews-Cushing.

I go for the guys with the most potential to be stars. Where we are drafting those to guys are Matthews & Barwin. The good thing is that Barwin could still be had after a trade down. That's why I chose him over Matthews.

All of this could be a moot point because I could see New Orleans taking Matthews at 15.

Smith & Childress are great analogies.

Buffalo picked 1st & took Smith. We chose 2nd & took Childress.

In the supplemental draft the same year the USFL folded Philly picked 1st & took White. We picked 2nd & took Rozier.

The Oilers were that close to drafting the two HOF DL & having them on the same DL for 10 years. Even with Moon there is no telling how many championships they could have won.

That and the fact that Steinkuhler got hurt. Ladd Herzeg would've been viewed differently in NFL history.

AHH FATE

I thought Erick Wood would make it into the third....but I read they had ten (or was it twelve) teams representing at Louisville's proday....so I dunno any more. A true center might be possible....one of the versatile guys at the 76....I just dunno any more. Wood ,as is all the multi task o-lineman are hot and getting hotter. Wouldn't be surprised if there's not a run on them early in the second. I guess we gotta choose. With all the 3-4 tweeners on the board we may still have a shot on the C/G. Depends how the league panics come draft day. Do they panic with the DE/LB tweeners and start a run there. Or do they panic that the C/G/T 's are going to run short and they panic there ? I wouldn't be upset in either direction, C/G or Sidbury. Both bring great value in terms of production for the '09 season. Although, it would be rare to go a whole 'nother season with out an o-line injury. I worry about that a lot. But to be in a position to draft two guys that could possibly vault us into the top ten with defense production...question marks for sure.....but I buy that. QB can't throw if he's sitting on his arse.

Sidbury is 266. What is Orakpo ? All they got to do is teach him to run the arc....and he's splitting time with Antionio Smith on third downs....from September. He's got the feet for it. Got Mathews and Mario comng from the other side...they can't double them all. We get forty sacks by the end of the year, DBs double their take away production....is it a reach ?

No. I think a team is built to be successful year after year. Texans are put together to offer a running and passing game using wide receivers, TEs and RBs. The defense while still being molded, will get after the QB, stop the run(I hope); linebackers will stop the run and TEs and be able to fall back if necessary. The LBs will have the skills to blitz some also. Our CBs will have the speed to run with the best WRs as will our FS. Our SS will attack and put the coma on some. If this is the final result, who cares who we play?

Damn easy schedule....Hopefully Malcolm Jenkins falls to them, but if not, go with Matthews

I don't mean to be rude, but this is really a silly question. Why would a one year schedule change an entire team's draft philosophy when the player is going to be there for several years? No team drafts a guy for one season. They draft that player to be a great player for their team for a long time.
