Hartmann Returns

Eligibility for the practice squad is limited to players who do not have an accrued season in the NFL, or were on an active list (53-man roster) for fewer than nine games during their only accrued seasons. Players that have served two seasons on a practice squad are eligible for a third season only if the team has at least 53 players on its active/inactive list for the duration of that player's employment.

A player will be considered to have served on a practice squad in a season if he were a member of a practice squad for three regular or postseason games during his first two practice squad seasons, or for one regular season or postseason game during a third practice squad season.

The minimum weekly salary for practice squad players in 2011 (and 2012) is $5,700, an increase of $500 over the 2008-2010 rate. There is no limit to how much a team can pay a practice squad player. Several teams have enticed players with offers of increased pay, usually a few thousand dollars extra, to join or remain on their practice squad.

I thought you could have played in over 9 regular season games for eligibility.

You have to have an accrued season to LOSE eligibility. He has 12 games which is not a complete season.

It's probably not entirely that simple.

But.

He's back on our PS so that's close enough for rock and roll.

While I truly DO want to win the division and much more- i DO NOT want the tag on our season to say " well, it's because Peyton couldn't play". Bring on anyone. I'm nervous about the Steelers, but we'll still be there . We have enough components in place; great things should happen. we'll see :-)

Well you do have to admit they've come a long way from worrying who the starter will be on this team at RB, OL, DLINE, Safeties and CB to just hoping they stay healthy and backup whatevers. Health more than anything else is the #1 concern and you can say that about every team.

Right now this is by far the best and deepest team the Texans have ever put together and if Manning is truly in slow recovery mode, the cards are surely falling into place for them to FINALLY taking over the division. I think Kubiak has done an outstanding job with the offense that I really hope W.Philips can save his butt by getting the defense to show up and respond in kind.

This could be a great year to be a Texan's fan.

If we beat the tough teams on our schedule, there won't be any asterisk.

If we end up winning our division with an 8-8 record or a 7-9 like the Seahawks last year, *.

I don't care if Peyton Manning is the QB. I don't care if Kerry Collins is the QB. I don't care if Lady GaGa or the ghost of Christmas Past is the QB.

Beating the Colts is a WIN. Period.

I'll take playoffs any way I can get it.

To hell with so-called asterisks. Even the Jags are throwing in the towel by starting Luke McCown. If Kubiak can't win the division this year, he never will--It's as if all the past five years of WTF? moments are standing aside and trying to give Gary Kubiak just ONE year of uncontested reg season play.

This is as close to a Gimmee Putt in football as you're ever going to get, folks.

Not only a win but a division win.

I didn't see any asterisk on other teams W column when we beat the worst secondary in the NFL.

So far he is producing and doing well with the TBs on KOs as well as trying to correct the punting issues.

Dude had a 70 yarder yesterday...

After that, I found myself dissapointed with the 50 yarder he kicked afterwards....:hides:

Yeah, we need to give some love to Hartmann. He did good and still a rook and should improve with more experience. We need a punter and we got young promising punter. I was really surprised to see we took a veteran over Hartmann but glad to see him back in our uni.

Go Hartmann!!!
Go Texans!!!
