Green Bay - Who's Going?

Just booked my flight to Milwaukee...gonna drive the rest of the way(117 miles) in and save 500 bones....

Whos's going this year? I heard the faaavrrrra guy isn't there any more.... :)

I drove to san diego on 80 bucks of gas one way.. i was gettn 500+ miles to the tank on my honda civic hybrid... I was thinkn of driving also
 
I've never been up that way so the scenery of driving might be nice. I haven't booked a hotel yet...
my brother in law is splitting driving with me so it should be cake compared to two plane tickets...I'll check in and out as the times get closer for the best price

In December the 'scenery' is frozen farm land and lakes covered with snow (or not). And a 100+ mile drive, if it's dry, is no problem. But if you happen to hit a weekend when it decides to dump 6 inches or more of snow - and it blows - driving can really suck once you get outside the metro areas.

Be especially careful driving if you aren't used to sub-freezing conditions. After living in Texas my whole life, I found I am quite horrible at driving in the snow/ice
 
Probably the best way to go is to get a flight into Milwaukee and then drive to your hotel. Book your hotels as soon as possible. You sure dont want to be driving from Milwaukee, or Osh Kosh on a wintery day. We booked our hotel in GB in April right after the schedule was released.

You can get tailgate tickets up there pretty easily. They cost about $25 for all the beer, screwdrivers, bloody mary's and brats.

If you go up the day before the game or plan to stick around until Monday you have to go to Krolls for their Butter Burgers.
 
4 people out of my tailgate crew are going....they booked everything through the Texans.

Mojo, I say you drive Mojo1 up there....I'm sure that thing doesnt guzzle gas or anything.
 
We'll probably try to get tickets in October, then book our flight. Need to pay my taxes first. We have a free flight and a place to stay, only need the tickets.
 
I will be making an executive decision next week on whether I am going or not. Definitely leaning towards it, just waiting on a client.
 
The Green Bay game is coming up in about a month. How many Texan Fans are going? I am going and the wife hasn't made up her mind yet. Let me know if some of you want to meet up and have some drinks. :texflag:
 
After 2 hours on the phone (3 calls to India) and a trip to IAH, we're out. They gave me the wrong paperwork a year ago, thus no free flight.

As much as I would love to fly to Green Bay instead of to Ohio for Christmas, my mom would kill me :)

Just heard on 1560 that snow is in the forcast for Sunday!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Weather.com doesn't confirm this though...but since when did 7 day forecasts actually become accurate?

One can dream...right?

I am dreaming, and implementing, as I will be bringing my snowboard gear up there to help brave the conditions. :texflag:
 
I am SOOOOOO envious of you guys!!! Due to illness and IKE (the bastard):aggressive: I won't be making the trip. Thought about this road trip for 4 years, but, just not on the cards this season.

Have a GREAT time, and I know you all will rep our TEXANS well!! I'll be looking for ya on the TV!!

Can't make the trip, no funds. However a group of Raging Bull Tailgaters will be going and they are having someone drive our old cook trailer up there for the game. So keep an eye out if you see some Texans tailgating. Have safe travels and GO TEXANS!
 
bpe3 and I will be there...got our tickets yesterday. 50 yard line seats. I keep checking the weather forecast and the temp keep dropping. Snow looks unlikely at this point, but I hope this changes.

Could this end up being Ice Bowl 2? :)

Ahh my plane leaves at 7am tomorrow...I am EXCITED. THis is my first real away game because I dont count the Dallas preseason games in Dallas..lol:texflag:

We are bringing some old Texas Republic flags with us...we will be waving them at times...

Current expected high for Saturday....17 degrees....burrrrr....
 
Everyone that is going you are going to have a Blast. Hit up Krolls for some great burgers. If you are staying in Green Bay on Saturday and want a place to watch the CFB games head over to Stadium view and get some of the towers of beer. Spotted Cow is a brew up there that is pretty good.

Tilted Kilt is also a great place up there to catch a bite or get some grub.

Also there is a Bar at Lambeu called Curley's Pub that is int he Atrium you can head in there get some drinks look at the stadium etc.

If you are flying into Milwaukee head over to the Miller Brewery hit the tour and get a couple of free beers at the end.

I was up there a few years ago for a Sunday night game, it was 7 at kickoff and the beer was freezing shortly after getting back to the seats, Come to think of it so was the "hot" chocolate.

Thanks for sharing! From a clothing standpoint, what was the article you were most happy that you brought and the article of clothing/accessory that you wished you would have brought?
 
Didn't think I was goin for awhile but I'll be there. I've been waitin 4 years for this game to come. Going with a few packers fans :( Section 105 row 8

Hunting boots (insualted waterprrof) and big jacket were a must. I wish I would have had a ski hat (whatever they are called) that would ahve covered my face.
